Do they think people will just stop taking codeine altogether by making it script only ?
I can just see people doctor shopping or just getting stronger painkillers from the doctors , why waste your time while at the doctors and lets be honest if you live in a large town / city there are so many doctors you could go to if you were organized that the change would have no impact on your supply . This will just force alot of people into that medical coditon requirement loop who would otherwise not get on the bandwagon , I can see why the doctors are liking this change , monthly visits to get a 40 pack of p15's for migraines ???
The other option black market open up but more so for the stronger painkillers as people want value for money and obviously price will be pushed up with demand. People will also smoke more pot as a result as the codeine was used to replace pot with alot of people I know.
I'am Lucky as I live in a big city so this change will not really impact me but I feel sorry for people in smaller town etc as this will really narrow alot of peoples options and could really push them into other harder drug options that would have far more impact than a few p15's.
