Codeine & CWE Megathread: Version II - [insert witty title]

I bought panadeine extra from a pharmacy yesterday and the lady said they will be script only soon, though im fairly certain she fucked in her stupid head. I thought I wouldask here first.
 
Always been interested in cwe, just on my first one with a few drinks. Expected more outta it (had 300mg codeine) but at the same time everythings so nice :)
 
For some people alcohol dulls the experience. If u are ingesting a new substances I recommend doing it by itself first. There has been cases where people have had severe reactions from combining new substances. Just be careful.

It's good to think ahead though. Especially for people who are doing this every day. What would you do? Buy heroin? Find someone with oxy? Try and doctor shop a script? It's bad enough that they ask for details now (easy to get round but this isn't the place). What will it be like when you need a script for some lousy codeine?
 
^ it would be hard on a lot of people that's for sure. I wouldn't be surprised if many of the cwe addicts out there turned to harder opiates if they did happen to reschedule OTC codeine products, especially seeing as opiates dont get much 'softer' than codeine. I think it's probably a safe guess to say people who know how to cwe generally know a little more about drugs than your average user and would already know or be able to figure out how to obtain and use other opiates like pst, oxy and other pills and heroin. A few would probably give up codeine and opiates and maybe move onto something else but once most people get a taste for opiates they find it difficult to just forget about them and move on. There could possibly be some kind new codeine black market open up for people not willing to move onto harder opiates but it's more likely that the black market for prescription painkillers will take up the slack. Like has been proven time and time again prohibition on pretty much all levels doesn't work - however harm reduction does so we should be focusing on that to try and mitigate the harm caused by the use of OTC codeine.

Completely agree Cass. I am one of those people. I'm not quite willing to part with the cottonwool, opiate warmth at the moment. I hate ATODS and subs with a passion. That's when opiates sunk their hooks into me. Boy, and I thought I was an addict before that. Was a self referred patient too. When you have a professional career, daily dosing is not sustainable either (my clinic operated only 2 hours a day)

Quality of H in my area is very poor and it can be hard to find a steady supply. If codeine became S4 I'd be straight back on Oxys full time and would use H to keep withdrawals at bay towards the end of the month.

Oxys sell for a premium here ($XXXX a box) so would be hard to maintain a habit like that on the street. I hope that price ref is allowed mods, I have read the rules!

Pharmacists have become a lot more militant here lately so I would not be surprised if this eventually happens.

Sad but true.
 
One thing that occurs to me thing is that we can't expect pharmacists (who have a duty of care to their customers) to be OK with selling young people pack after pack of these tabs when they the pharmacists know very well that:

*the amount ibu or para one of these frequent buying/addicted young people are consuming if they are indeed taking all of those tablet (anywhere from 1 to 30 odd packs per week) is insane and simply unjustifiable under any circumstances

*they are not going to feel any better about it if they suspect they're "CWEing" all those tabs, you can't expect them to put any faith at all in a "CWE" and they'd be negligent if they did justify it in that way. I'd have a big problem with a pharmacist who trusted my daughter to extract poison from OTC tabs so she can fix codeine.

*so they're kind of forced to act to be seen to be doing something. You know the big pharma corps who make these tabs will probably sit on their hands untill there's a long lasting CWE media campaign then they might start to think about losing money from selling codeine OTC to addicts.

When it comes down to it there is no way to make the situation with opiates much better than it is because the only real problem societies face with opiates is the artificial scarcity of opiates that the War on some drugs has created. It really is as simple as that and there has never been a shred of sincere evidence that has ever said otherwise. It's going to be pretty hard to get the authorities stop restricting opiate access to those that want them when lots of opiate user still think of opiates as "the devil", maybe that's slowly changing but it is really very slow and I wanted my $5.00 bulk-buy sized pack of 30 times 100mg diamorph vaporiser cartridges YESTERDAY GOD FUCK THEM!!! because I am a big tough guy and I can handle it so gimme!!!
 
think i may have overdone it on the codeine last night.think i was starting to get a histamine reaction became reallly itchy to the point it started to sting,had me worrying at some points you forget how much tolly plays such a big role when u have a little break :\
 
^ yuck I hate that feeling, unless you're one of the *lucky* few who gets something decent out of codeine I find less is usually more. Anymore than 200mg cwe'd or 90-120mg from pure codeine pills and the histamine reaction and other negative side effects far outweigh the limited pleasure I get from them. I have had a few surprisingly decent highs from codeine, during past breaks from heroin or before I tried the beefier opiates but all things considered codeine is pretty average. Compared to its big brothers morphine and heroin it's utter crud. IMO.

It does have its uses though, it's handy for withdrawal from stronger opiates and when taken as directed works pretty well for certain types of low level pain. Before I starting using h nurofen+ was an intergral part of my hangover/comedown kit, the small amount of codeine in the pills made them far more effective than plain nurofen for me, especially for booze induced headaches, tension headaches from jaw clenching while on amps and lower back and leg pain from standing, walking around and dancing all day at festivals.

funnily enough i think i used to be one of those "lucky" people.before i started using stronger opiates (smack oxy hydromorph ect ect) i would really enjoy the effects of codeine and have some very high doses.i wont say how much but exceeding 1 gram per dose at one point.i quite enjoyed the itch but last night it was unbearable i was scratching myself til i went all pink i'd only gotten that experience off gram plus doses before not 600mgish
 
hey guys n gals

i got a box of chemist brand extra strength panadol last night. 40 tablets with 15mg of codeine per tablet i did my usual cwe method but my solution came out slightly yellow/goldish looked like there was a bit of olive oil or somthing in there.i have used this brand one time before and no effect what so ever but i just put that down to tolly and dose (me and a mate went halfs in a box) but last night i had a full box to myself and got pretty much no effect sliiiightly itchy but that could of just a placebo.im just wondering if anyone else has had this problem? i looked on the box for extra ingredients but the only extra thing i could find was lactose.would that cause a color change? im thinking something was added to these tablets to stop abuse as last time i did a 600mg dose of my usual brand on codeine i got a histamine reaction and was SUUUPER out of it.granted my tolly is pretty high (been using pretty much daily for the past 2-3 weeks smack pst bupe codeine) but yeah i thought i would of felt SOME effect.anyways i snapped a picture of the finished golden cwe last night n here it is,any incite would be greatly appreciated

That extraction looks fine to me dude. Nice and clean. A lot cleaner than my ones. ps: come on the interwebs n hola me:)
