Codeine and CWE Megathread - The long awaited!

I've never experienced a rush from pst either, but it is my favourite way to take opioids.

I find the physical pleasure from pst to be above that of oxy or smack. Heroin is an intense feeling of which all aspects aren't necessarily pleasurable to me, and both it and oxy I find have more noticable impairing effects. PST is just a beautiful warm glow.
 
yep, i absolutely agree with sonny jim and footscrazy. sort of glad it's not just me...but it really does seem to be getting popular in my town, which is a worry.
i love opium. codeine i find, by comparison, much more...how to describe it - flat? it's certainly capable of creating a nice soft kind of buzz, but in terms of that warm glow you speak of, codeine just doesn't feel anywhere near the same. i find smack too deadening, and the short halflife of pharmaceutical opies just doesn't work for me. the alkaloid spectrum of opium preparations is (in my subjective experience) incomparable.
i wish we had a trade in dried pods in this country, i can never make my harvest last me all year.

That's interesting, I've felt it coming on within half an hour but PST doesn't really kick in for me until about 2 hours or so. And it comes on gradually... but I haven't ever had the patience to concentrate it, so that's probably why. :)
 
^ i used to have a similar time delay, when i first started experimenting with PST.
i'm not sure why it's not like that any more, but i get an obvious mood lift (and relief/calm/looseness depending on how badly i am hanging out for a dose) about 20-30 minutes after ingestion. i'm pretty sure it's not placebo, but perhaps it is a more developed perception of the onset of effects, or something.
 
My favourite part of the PST is coming up, feeling a warm contentness spread from my chest are through my body...and the mood lift feels so natural, it's just beautiful.

If only there were a way to know the actual dose of the alkaloids in each batch and a way to minimise the nasty side effects (i've literally been wiped out for an entire day with a hangover from hell with this stuff.)
 
^ I've had that same hungover, a terrible headache and nausea lasting the whole next day... I used to get it if I ever did pst two days in a row but since I've been doing it daily I rarely get those effects...I suppose due to habituation.

I usually feel like it takes an hour or two to properly kick in, though I do start feeling it around 30 mins-40mins.

Thats the very reason why i dont use PST's. I like to function normally the next day with no hangover. I get that from too much morphine too, I just get bed ridden if I have a moderate to largish dose. After 4 years I still get huge rushes from a large dose of codeine. For me personally I worked out a way to maximize the benefits by sticking to my base dosage which is 360mg for say 6-10 times then on the say 11th time I up the dose to double that. The rush is huge for me just liek good old days but the down side is that I bearly feel 360mg anymore and have to really concentrate on it to actually really notice. I know there still are alot of people who frequently do huge doses and i recommend keeping a lot lower base dosage then doubling if you really want to feel high again (best would be a tolerance break, but who can do that?)

On a side note lately I have been experimenting with poppers and codeine, have tried it about 2 years ago but gotten into the habit of it lately and its awesome. No matter what you use it with it will always amplify or extend the duration. Anyone else tried it before (say laying down whilst opiated out of there mind?)

Is DXM (30-60mg) 45 minutes before , Restavit (25-50mg) 45 mins before , a drink or two 30 mins before , then 400mg codeine , another 20 mins after another drink or two and some weed , all on an empty stomach with some grapefruit juice , is this a safe combo or do any of these interact ? From what I gather on the codeine potentiation thread is that this is fine .
 
^ Thats fine if you are used to most of that, if you are adding a bunch of potentiators to your regular dose of codeine then you might want to reduce your usual dose of codeine a bit to be on the safe side. You haven't suggested anything that seems overly dangerous however unless you are opiate naive. There aren't any bad interactions between those drugs. From memory though I thought GFJ inhibits CYP2D6 and induces CYP3A4, meaning you get less conversion to morphine and more conversion to norcodeine which adversely affects potency. Personally I don't reccomend using GFJ before codeine, but others seem to disagree. I guess you will have to try it both ways and judge for yourself.
 
Yeah I remember reading something about that now , thanks for your advice , I have only really recently started using codeine but I dont get too off my head on 400mg but it's really nice , I plan on taking about 700mg codeine with all the above to be honest , im aiming to nod pretty hard
 
Codeine tends to cap out around 500mg for most people. I certainly found it useless to go above 500 - 600. Some have reported it working in higher doses so it's worth a shot, but don't expect to be blown away compared to 400.

I miss you codeine :(
 
Yeah I've heard a lot about this ceiling dose crap , but my friend disbelieves it due to his own experience , and I'm hoping that these potentiatiors will do their thing and really get me smashed lol , even if it doesn't have a significant difference between 400/700mg codeine I still really enjoy 400mg alone or with some weed , so I'm expecting some nods . Just hoping to get some real fun times with this before tolerance gets too high
 
I used to think that GFJ inhibited CYP2D6 as well as I saw it on here maybe, but eventually I think we all decided that it was actually OK and I haven't seen any actual science saying that it inhibits that enzyme. I personally haven't noticed it doing so, as opposed to promethazine which if taken before codeine really affects it in a bad way in my experience.
 
^ In my experience using promethazine before codeine makes the experience considerably less intense and more drawn out. Promethazine is a CYP2D6 inhibitor which means it prevents as much codeine converting into morphine.

Peacepipechief, in my experience it is not worthwhile to use over 600mg of codeine if you are after a relaxing experience. For a while I was dosing 800mgs and I honestly feel once you go over the ceiling dose you get a disproportionate amount of more stimulating metabolites that overpower the morphine and make it less sedating of a buzz, it also increases your tolerance quicker than using lower doses and I now find it fairly difficult to get a good buzz off of codeine more than once or twice a month (and even then it isn't great). I would try 600mg before you go dosing above that but your experience may differ from mine.
 
I find the itching strange. I've honestly only gotten slight itching, even at 1.2 grams, and I've never used antihistamines. I have, however, randomly had a massive histamine release from codeine, which caused me to scratch my legs severely for about an hour. It was not fun, but I still don't know why it happened then and not any other time.
 
The itching was terrible. I thought I was dying and I was about to ring the Ambulance before it finally went down. I had scratches up my leg for at least 2 weeks
