Codeine and CWE Megathread - The long awaited!

That seems to happen with codeine, most codeine users and I have had that random big histamine release on codeine, much stronger than any other times we've used it.

I usually find codeine to have the strongest histamine release, and when I was in France and tried Tussipax (10mg codeine 10mg ethyl morphine per pill) the histamine release is so strong as to make it (IMO) completely useless for recreational effects.
 
Ceiling dose is bullshit. 700mg floors me twice as hard as 350mg would tbh. I suppose everyone is different. Some people bearly feel it others nod. Sometimes I get massive histamine release too but on rare occasions. Scratched my legs til they bled and whole body was completely red. Its always a wise idea to keep some anti histamines handy as you never know when itll happen. I usually get it from extremely high doses if my tolerance is close to nil.
 
I think the ceiling dose is bullshit, as well. I'm yet to see any real scientific validation of it rather than some anonymous person claiming it as factual.
 
Drug Mentor is right about promethazine inhibiting CYP2D6, I've made the mistake of taking the promethazine before hand... quite a let down.

I find that I get a tolerance to the histamine effects which also goes away quickly; if I'm using codeine fairly regularly, take a break for a few days then use at a high dose again the histamine reaction will hit me pretty hard. I have had severe breathing problems due to this, so if you are using high doses of codeine then it is something to be careful of.

Ceiling dose has never affected me, I've known a couple of people who claim that they can't dose above 800mg or so because they get no further positive effects but increased side effects. Diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks.

haha me too. I mean, I had the classic histamine reaction just ONCE in approximately 5 years of CWEs. And it wasn't near the beginning. How random!

I scratched the shit outta my back and chest with a hairbrush lol:D
 
yeah, this is no exaggeration.

I have seen someone in respirator distress, with their face all swollen up. Big itchy welts, blowing up under the skin before my eye's. She was crying and I was scared and about to get her to hospital but it settled after an hour or so. This was from 20 N+ tabs CWE'd.

I have been close to this and the itching is so bad that you can't call it itching. The sensation is so strong that it hurts like being electrocuted.
 
It also fuck the high.

I remember trying to hit the sweet spot which for me meant getting as much codeine into my system without breaching point at which the insane super histamine reaction kicks off. Once the sever histamine reaction has run its course the codeine buzz seems to have all but faded completely.
 
In my experience the extreme histamine reaction results from drinking the codeine on an empty stomach, causing it to kick in faster.
 
yeah, that's exactly how it feels to, so much codeine gets into the portal blood supply all of a sudden that some gets forced through and or around the liver into the great circulatory system unmetabolised.

of course it can still happen when your stomach isn't empty but not as easily.
 
I actually love feeling itchy and euphoric. The only thing I hate is when my skin on my whole body starts turning red and rashy. It gets super hot too.
 
when i do my CWE , i crush 30 panefen plus 12.8mg codeine pills in 50ml of water and mix it , then filter it once through a t-shirt then put it in the freezer for roughly 10 minutes , then i filter it again . but my final result is nothing close to clear and hardly see through , am i doing something wrong , is the tshirt that bad or is it the dye in the pills ?

In the case of panafen, I'm fairly sure it's dye in the pills.
 
^ Crankinit is spot on. Don't worry, I use a similar method to yours and it works fine with both Panafen & Panadeine brands.
 
the tiny holes in t-shirt material (what ever that may be) vary in size too much to be safe for use in something you are trusting with your life.

people die or get sick from paracetamol toxicity every day.

if you can't find coffee filter (woolies/coles ets just ask) then don't do a CWE.

A cloudy solution means there are undissolved particles in the solution! i.e. the stuff you want filtered out is getting through the filter and into your product. That's a potentially lethal situation with paracetamol.
 
With paracetamol products it is, however using a shirt as an original filter is actually a good idea- you can't entirely rely on coffee filters for CWE's because of their fragility.
 
yeah but the final filter has to be coffee filter or better.

and that is only taking into consideration the paracetamol that hasn't yet dissolved.

another real danger is mistakes in the cold water extraction, like for example not using water that is cold enough will produce a final product that potentially contains a lot of paracetamol. It doesn't matter how good your filter is if the paracetamol is already dissolved. The solution might be clear but it could contain a dangerous amount dissolved paracetamol.
 
I'll agree with you, there. You have to use a coffee filter(or better) at one point of the CWE.
 
theres no paracetamol in panafen plus , yeah i was planning on buying coffee filters soon . also the advice of if u dont have coffee filters then dont do it is pretty bad advice , cause im pretty sure im gonna do a CWE reguardless ...
 
Haha, I understand. It's not too bad doin' it a few times, but when you get coffee filters you really realise how much shit it removes.
