I have this syringe that I got from my friends I left it there a while sure its clean I'm just not taking any chances so I need some help on the proper way to go about cleaning this needle.
If youre gonna clean a needle i'd recommend going even further than what tricomb said and using bleach.
If you need a reminder as to why you never re-use a needle:

If I were to share my pin with someone, this is what I would do. I think this is the best way to clean a pin because it works like an autoclave, which is used to sterilize medical equipment etc... You want to STERILIZE, not clean by the way.. bleach doesnt kill everything. Cells are small god only knows what is left in that pin. This plan only works if you have a pressure cooker.. I used to grow shrooms so I have one sitting around. You can get them cheap.
Run your pressure cooker with the 15 psi weight on it, run it for 20 minutes. The steam reaches 250F which is what an autoclave runs at, and th is WILL sterilize. Boiling needles in water is not sufficient for sterilization, nor is soaking in alcohol, since these methods do not destroy resistant bacterial spores or certain viruses. I did find this about bleach in regards to HIV, it was found to kill the virus. Keep in mind some are more resistant than HIV I think though.
Don't clean needles, they come sterile.
Use hydrogen peroxide or bleach or high pressure steam to disinfect stainless steel things, but since needles come packaged sterile for less than 10 cents, get a new one!
Run bleach through it 3x, then make sure to rinse out all of the bleach.
If youre gonna clean a needle i'd recommend going even further than what tricomb said and using bleach.
If you are intent on using this needle instead of locating a sterile new syringe, I would highly recommend sanitizing the entire thing with isopropyl alcohol, repeatedly drawing up some alcohol into the barrel of the syringe and shaking it. Make sure to wash your hands before and after, being sure to scrub with anti-bacterial soap for a full 60 seconds.

Jesus I didn't realize I was the only one on bl who would ever think of such a thing. I never re use needles and normally have a couple on stand by. I just figured since I was at my friends house where I was aware I had a needle from a couple days ago in which I was almost positive no one had used, just being cautious and wanting to ask about cleaning it to be just that much safer was that much of a deal. Thanks for the info, I've learned more than ever as to why I should not re use a syringe, just wanting some advice to clean my clean needle.
Oh I'm sorry I did not address those ppl, I took note of yalls post's too. Didn't feel like their info was to mention in the last MSG. My apologies. If you actually read the posts in the thread like you said you have you will have noticed people answering your question.
