Chicago - what the hell is there to do around here!?

In a spin off from the "worst city you've ever been to" thread, I wanted to created the "I'm officially bored as hell" thread...
I moved to Chicago a couple of months back and seriously, WTF is there to do around here... I am so bored it's ridiculous...
I've been hitting the clubs and Smart Bar is reasonable, but coming from living in Sydney just over a year ago, pretty much everthing pales in comparison - 'duh!' ;)
I've spent the morning searching the web for perhaps a new hobby to occupy my time and meet some new friends or looking for some decent upcoming DJs, but no, nothing - I guess everyone's gone into hibernation for the winter (I should have done the same)...
Anyways, just wanted a rant - if anyone has any kind of inkling of what's going on around here, or if anyone is interested in a meet up at an upcoming night then start dropping some ideas before I get so bored I throw myself in front of the 'el' to end the boredom!
 
If you can't find anything to do in Chicago, you're not trying very hard.
 
Sounds like he's living in Naperville if he can't find anything to do.
 
Chicago is one of the most cultural cities their are. Get involved in the winter activites such as ice skating, hockey, and shit like that. Plenty of clubs and just wait to find some cool people and keep an open mind about it.The U.S is much different than the rest of the world. it's all about money.
 
There are a million things to do here. but yes, it's currently winter and so everyone is on the down low.
What sort of music are you into? That helps to sort out which clubs/bars you may enjoy. There are quite a few good underground parties coming up and 2 or 3 of them look really good.
 
They might be fun if you want to hang out with Chad and Trixie. The bars on Clark are some of the worst in the city and the standard Lincoln Park fare are just as bad.
 
go buy a timeout chicago - their slogan is 'if you're bored, don't blame us.' check out metromix.com as well.

i've lived here for six months and have stayed unbelievably busy. you must be doing something wrong. thank you, drive thru.
 
Check out the Art Institute of Chicago. I could spend a week in there alone!

I find it hard to believe you're even leaving your house at all if you can't find anything to do in Chicago. If I lived there I think I'd be overwhelmed with all the possibilities.
 
Freeze your ass off. Then during the other half of the year you can melt your ass off.

Don't forget to curse the Bears.

^^^^^^ditto, seriously its the new york of the midwest. they have a free zoo, the rave scene is pretty nice, good drugs at clubs, bomb ass weed, millions of people....you need to get off the computer and look around. the bean is the shizit , the beach is fucking cool, even if its cold
 
Nothing to due here now except stay at home! I hate fucking winter!
