@Jibult I ordered an Xbox X last night; the version/promotion that gives you 3 years of platinum game access (so you can play instantly) - but most importantly I went and ordered Fallout 4 game of the year and Dying Light anniversary edition.

Last console I had was Xbox one?

Tom

that's awesome, man. add me when you get it all set up: kjiibb88

Found out that Fallout 3 game of the year and Fallout 4 are included in game pass as well as Fallout New Vegas.

Will do. There’s a lot of Battlefield’s/Call of Duty type stuff so I’m gonna have a blast.

I’m hoping that I can find a good media player so all of my mkv’s/etc work.

The Purpl Pro (the THC tester) is rather pricey. $1495 Cdn. there is an add-on module that determines moisture % but could not find the price.

It’s a fixed wavelength near infrared spectrophotometer and someone figured out how to correlate THC% with infrared refraction. And yeah I am curious to know if the labelled weed I bought is really 25.6% or is the number bs?

Hah; my lighters all disappeared and then I was trying to light a joint on a smoothtop stove. Pretty difficult not getting burnt 😝

Tom

Light it like a blunt, man! Bring the joint to the flame, not the other way around.

Take a pull when you see a small cherry start to form instead of while you spark your lighter/flame.

I prefer to puff when I spark up but hey, man, you gotta work with what you've got sometimes.

I learned the hard way over time. I was already inhaling when I held the lighter to the tip of the joint (when I first started smoking) and wondered why no joints would ever burn straight for me. Yeah, I just let the flame kiss the end of the joint until I start to see a cherry.

Never had a blunt b/c of tobacco, but now with legalization I can get Palm leaf or Hemp wraps.

We’re just starting to get infused pre-rolls; sadly limited to 1g per pre-roll so nothing really blunt like. and no cannagars yet.

Sleep was a joke last night, but i'm fine at work anyway.

Sometimes i don't think the weed use impairs me at all, beyond being an obvious site for toxic self-criticism.

I literally just got finished with a 350 hour Fallout 4 addiction and am now 35 or so hours dumped into Dying Light. I think you would be able to get your money’s worth lol

I play on PC though, the Series X is hard to get at msrp if you don’t want game pass which, I don’t. Bought those games on sale with all DLC included for $14 each on steam.

PC gaming is better than console anyway
True, but console gaming (Xbox X) is better than the crap I can get for my Macs. Most of the PC game software I run is on Windows 11 64arm under Parallels on an M1 Mac - so I buy games on GOG and install them on Win 11. I’ve only had one version of Doom not work like this. But I’ve also used Crossover to directly install games on Mac - works surprisingly well.

Native Mac gaming sucks crap, except for Chess programs which are stupidly strong.

The major drawback is having a dedicated gaming rig has cost me $$$. I built it for ~$800 around 2017-18. Got the GPU used for only $100 off a coworker who was upgrading to a GTX 1080 ($600 at the time... boy, I'd buy a 1080 for $600 today...) and I got his old RX 480 8gb. It was a decent GPU but it ran its course and now I've swapped it into my media PC for 4k streaming, and I bought a brand new RTX 2060 12gb for ~$490. Felt like a bit of a rip off because there was a RTX 3060 for sale at only $550 but I hesitated for only ten minutes and it was gone.

Oh well. The 2060 may have been pricey but I'm blown away by what it can handle. The GeForce software is less user friendly but optimized my card well so it looks gorgeous when I'm running through the streets of Haran in Dying Light. I doubt I'll need a new GPU for 5+ years as I'm always 2+ years behind on games lol

It’s coming time to buy a new computer and I’d like to buy a Mac Mini Studio, install Parallels/Windows 11 arm64 and just go with that. if it can’t run a Windows game, my loss but then I’ve got the Xbox to fall back on.

@Cream Gravy? * started to play Dying Light and had to stop fairly quickly b/c I was too high and got vertigo on the rooftops looking down 😝 Haven’t got very far in Fallout 4. Just made it to Concord and encountered the Deathclaw.

I downloaded a Battlefield something or other and anything zombie related that was in the game pass.

I think my shit smells like weed

.....Nice!

Any horror movie fans here? Not like serial killer horror, but more psychological with a shitload of jump scares?

I dunno why but I've been on a scary movie kick lately. They're awesome to fall asleep to, man, the dreams are phenomenal after watching a horror movie.

Lately I've been sticking with paranormal/haunted house-type stuff. Things like The Conjuring, Paranormal Activity, Annabelle, Insidious... but I've GOT to be missing some gems, man, hopefully someone here can offer a bit of insight.

The Exorcism of Emily Rose i remember being quite alright. There's many series on Netflix also with good horror themes. Stranger Things was most popular but is on the goofy side. Series like The Haunting of Hill House and The OA and others i can't recall atm contain big horror elements.

Then of course there's Midsommar but maybe you saw that when it was released.
