Television Breaking Bad

you do the math(s)

question:

i think we learned recently that Walt was making around $7,000,000 a year, right? (how many years has Walt been doing it?)

they bought the car wash for about $500,000
skylar gave Ted about £630,000

where's the rest of the money? have i missed something or is that issue yet to be explained?

i'm pretty sure Junior's Chrysler PT LadyCruiser didn't cost that much. ;)

Gus becoming a cold blooded gangsta is the best thing about this series. the transformation has been amazing and I'm sure we're gonna see him do a lot more bad stuff. well, I hope so. :D

You forgot sauls cut, which used to be really high, but just recently renegotiated. And hanks medical, which is probably high as hell. And his own medical, which was also high as hell.

It is all good man.
It's all good man.
S'all good man.
Saul Goodman.

I'm sure it's been mentioned before, but I thought of this when I was on the toilet last night and started laughing. :)

Better call saul is my favorite episode. Plus anything with badger. Also, where Walt tells those cooks "Stay out of my territory"

Basically I love em all, and have the first 3 seasons on bluray. Only ones I disliked were the marriage tension episodes. I was waiting for beneke to launder money for them as his books were crooked, but it never came out.

ALSO, I got a breaking bad poster from AMC for talking on their forums about breaking bad.. just a heads up guys.

thats the poster they sent me,

One of my fav Saul moments is when he is negotiating the sale of jesses old house from his parents and jesses parents come in with their uptight douchebag lawyer and they all think Saul is a joke because he has those cheezy commercials, then he proceeds to lowball them by HALF on the price and then corners them with the fact that there was a methlab on the premesis in the basement. lol its funny as shit when hes like hmm lets see meth lab meth lab, i see you had the termites sprayed for, but no, nothing about a meth lab. haha. Would you concur, counselor? lol best line.

I am very interested to see what else we find out about gus, if you remember back when he was saying how his records from chile dont exist before the 70's or whatever, and mike says to gus, if i cant find anything about you, then they sure as hell wont be able to. I wonder if gus was some pinochet enforcer or something? He is def a bad motherfucker. Also cant wait to see what was in the zefiro anejo that killed everyone. From once sitting at that same pool wathcing his brother be killed, to 20 years later walking out and seeing all of your enemies dying in pain and your henchman gurating (sp) the guy that sniped some of your associates. Walking out and seeing just total destruction of all of your enemies must have been pretty satisfying for gus haha. Best show ever.

How bout when mike took out those asian competitors and used those aluminized balloons to ambush them. What a BADASS!

I've been good about not reading any spoilers up to this point, but I just watched the episode with Walt & Jesse trying to kill the fly. What a fucking waste of an episode. Seriously.

I emphatically disagree!

It is a polarizing episode among viewers, but as emotive/metaphoric depth go, "Fly" is powerful stuff.

Walt's diphenhydramine-fueled moment of candor and lucidity towards the end, went something like:

JESSE: But what about the contamination?

WALT: It's all contaminated.

Summarizes the whole series.

Also cant wait to see what was in the zefiro anejo that killed everyone.r.

Maybe its nicotine. 60mg or the amount of three or four cigarettes taken orally, is enough to kill a man on the spot.

"Lethal doses can kill as quickly as one minute, and activated charcoal is particularly effective at absorbing nicotine in the stomach. Sixty milligrams will kill an adult on the spot - equivalent to what's in three or four cigarettes. When you inhale the smoke, you aren't getting that much of it. Kids eating a single cigarette or even a single butt end up in hospitals all of the time. 60mg would easily fit in a shot-glass sized dose.
It's plentiful, readily available, and if prepared properly could be easily masked by the tequila. Nicotine is the same washed out yellow color as the contents of that bottle, and has a very weak flavor that would be overpowered by the tequila. In fact, nicotine causes a burning sensation in the mouth, but again so would a premium high-grade tequila over 120 proof. It is the perfect poison for that bottle.
In ultra-high doses, it causes exactly the same symptoms we saw in Don Eladio and his Capos: Confusion, dizziness, paralysis, convulsions, death, in that order. Notice how Don Eladio's fat-boy Capos were the first ones to succumb (likely due to heart attack), while the healthy ones like the Don himself held on the longest. All of them were pink and sweating as if overheating."

Do you think it is possible that Gus knew about Jesse's "lucky cigarette" and used that to poison the cartel dudes? Gus has eyes in the back of his head when it comes to shit like people trying to kill him. But if that is how he got the poison I would think they would have included that as part of the story. It makes sense that Gus could have said "I know that Walt gave you poison, and I also know that you had chances to use it but never did. So I know I can trust you just give me the poison."

But I just remembered that poison was supposed to be a slow acting one that worked in a matter of days, not minutes. So where did Gus get the poison or are we to assume that a guy like him can get whatever he wants from any variety of sources? He does have an entire medical team on retainer maybe the doctor hooked him up.

If I wrote for the show I would have had the tequila be spiked with LSD or another psychedelic, and let Mike dismember the cartel capos while Don Eladio was forced to watch. Then they would have dragged the Don behind the car on their way out of the desert or something equally gruesome.

^Indeed. Wasn't that the original motivation for getting into the methamphetamine business (his medical expenses, I mean) ;)
lol... D'OH!!! it seems so long ago, I totally forgot about that. :D

nah, the poison had to be something predictable and very fast acting, or they would never have been able to escape. I do like the idea of them dragging someone behind a car though. maybe they'll do that to Hector in his wheelchair next. ;)

ricin stops all protein production, its a slow terrible death and looks a little like radiation sickness. I dont buy the nicotine theory as there is not effective antidote and gus would have been a goner for sure. something like fentanyl would be smarter as you can reverse it with narcan with basically no ill effects. And it does not require much and I doubt taste would be an issue.

We're gonna need a new BB thread.

Wasn't sure whether to close it now or wait until the season is over. What say ye, F&Ters?

p.s. Walter Jr gets shot in the face in Season 5.

p.p.s. just kidding. (although I hope not)

I'd like to keep it open as well and unless everyone here or a senior mod/admin say otherwise, that's prbly what's gonna happen. I mean, I don't think Bluelight will stop working if one thread goes over 1k posts. :D
