Television Breaking Bad

One thing is that this show is completely unpredictable. I agree that Mike doesn't like Walt, but I also don't think it's in his constitution to kill/let him be killed.

Tyrus dude on the other hand, I'd like to see him in a barrel of acid in the next couple episodes.

When Ted's death is investigated, they may come after her. She has to run now, I think. It doesn't look good that Ted wrote such an enormous check and then vanished.

Why would they come after her? No one knows that two hit men hired by her were the ones to force Ted to write the check, and they didn't have anything to do with his death.

I agree that they all need to run, but I don't see why Ted's financial problems would affect Skyler especially now that the fine is paid.

I've been good about not reading any spoilers up to this point, but I just watched the episode with Walt & Jesse trying to kill the fly. What a fucking waste of an episode. Seriously.

LOL, "Fly" is the one episode of BB that everyone I know complained about. I can see why, though - it's really slow paced and not much happens to further the story. I think you just gotta like watching actors act to enjoy that one. It's one of my favorite Cranston performances; I thought he really managed to capture some real feelings during that episode, not to mention the deepening of the relationship between Walt and Jessie. Some might call it a waste of an episode, but I thought it was a total necessity.

Speaking of "might as well be taking meth", this past episode, what did people think of the fact that Walt weighed the tote of meth, and then Tyrus re-weighed it, and the number was significantly lower (wasn't it like almost half a pound, or something like that?) I forget the exact difference, but Tyrus just gave him a look..

Walt said 40.23 lb, the enforcer said 40.21 lb (Correct me if I' m wrong), that makes it .02 lb unaccounted for, or 9.07 grams, or 9070 mgs, giving you about 302 meth hits (each hit smoked for four hours) of common intensity. So yes the enforcer knows the importance of significant figures. It is possible that he has taken some ice here and there, as a "professor testing" his shit; and coupled by his growing arrogance and recklessness, (that even Gus can sense) and that crazy shit of an ending. But like the Heisenberg uncertainty principle, we cant be sure since he keeps changing fast every time we think we figured Walt out. Everything is at the mercy of circumstances. Walt can't be killed off "literally", remember 24, Jack Bauer got "killed" in Season 4 (faked his own death), so i don't think we can cling on to anything sure right now IMO.

Just wanted to add for allusion's sake that the fight between Walt and Jesse reminded me of the fight between Stringer Bell and Avon Barksdale (The Wire Season 3) or Soprano and Moltisanti (The Sopranos Season 5-6): one boss and his associate (In the Wire's case, two bosses) battling for recognition over one and the other because one of them crossed the line (Stringer ordering Avon's relation killed, Soprano allegedly fucking Adriana). In the end the bosses of Season 3 would dime each other out, while Moltisanti proved loyal to Soprano, who killed him anyway later. Walt and Jesse?

I just replayed that part of the episode where Walt weighed the tote (40.23 lbs) and then Tyrus reweighs the tote (40.21 lbs) and after rewinding it and watching it several times I noticed that when Walt weighs the tote, HIS HAND IS SITTING ON THE TOP OF IT. This is the reason for Walt's number having been more than Tyrus's. Mystery solved. :)

On EW.com they proposed the theory that Gus wants Jessie to be his new lover--Like the guy that was shot in the pool, his old "cocinero" reinvented again. Fucked up.

lol, it's possible he sees the same in Jesse that he saw in his partner and somehow wants to save him but I highly doubt it... Gus is a cold-hearted killer who feels nothing but good business sense and a twinge of revenge, IMO.

I was thinking, why wouldn't he take the deal Gus gave and just leave? Instead he gets arrogant and tells Gus he can't kill him or else Jesse won't cook; but he could just force Jesse to cook anyway. Then Gus mentions that he intends to kill Hank, and that's where Walt's situation gets complicated. To save Hank's life he puts his family in the line of fire, which he intends to remedy by taking the vanishing option; thinking he has the money to do so.

Of course when he gets home and sees that he doesn't have enough money it all comes crashing down on him. All he can do is laugh, but knowing his family could very well be killed comes back to him.

I have a feeling Mike is going to start playing a bigger role in helping Walt out of his quagmire.

He went to the best law school ever; he has the solution to EVERYTHING. :D

And Huell is a great character. Remember when he asked to use the washroom at Walt's apartment and then flushed as soon as the conversation stalled? :D

Oh I thought the Hank threat was just that....part of the threat with his family....if Walt interferes then he'll take out Hank....makes more sense now...Thanks

For anyone interested, here's an overview of the last episode from AMC narranted by the cast....that laugh still gives me goosebumps

FWIW I'm in pro-The Fly camp. :)

You dislike Jim Morrison, your argument is invalid. ;)

The episode just seemed out of place with the vibe of the series up to that point. IMO, the acting alone wasn't enough to carry the episode. That being said, I had the show running in the background while doing some other stuff. Also I was drunk.

Fly was one of the best episodes last season.

I'm the type to rewatch these types of series, especially Breaking Bad, and it seemed very important as an episode to me. It explored some very deep themes of the show, and it was the episode that brought Walt and Jesse back together after so much tension.

Everybody is split on it however. I will warn you that there is one really bad episode in Season 4 that even I didn't appreciate, but you will get there when you get there.

^What was a waste, to me, is the fact that every time it seems like Walt and Jesse might be bonding, they always hate each other within like 2 episodes. I agree that it was good acting, and I enjoy dialogue more than action, so that's why I like this show in the first place, though some of the family dialogue is a little bit like nails on a chalkboard at times. There was none of that in Fly at least lol...It probably won't be the rerun that I'm most excited to see, but it was a solid episode I thought.

Ahh...thanks for the clarification. I thought the discrepancy was in the tenths place. I didn't really pay close attention to it, I was just like "that's weird" when Tyrus got the different number.

^ You gotta rename it something not-quite-so-specific, like, "Laughing scene from TV show with Black Metal overdub". Otherwise Youtube will be all over it.
