Television Breaking Bad

good show, really wished it portrayed ABQ better. i mean, they film shit at the tri-h, and then make it look like they're up on the mesa. wack. also thought it was shitty that they wouldnt let the actual owners of the tri-h be extras in their own store. they paid someone to do it instead

^lol you guys actually talk like Jesse? "That's WACK yo! I can't have THAT!" hahha nice.

I don't really know where you're coming from... it's not like this was a giant secret?

NSFW:
If memory serves right, most people thought Walt was somehow involved in the plane crash at the end of the series last year. I mean I would think AMC wouldn't want to ruin a huge question before they even air the first episode. It wasn't a very major part of the commercial.

Nah you're right, for some reason I processed that incorrectly. I don't even remember what I thought...like something about the airlines themselves being the culprit. I watch this show religiously when the season runs, and sometimes on the net even. I can't believe I said that.

I gotta say, after watching most of the first season, I have to give this show thumbs down for a few reasons.

1.) What's with the shitty Jason Mewes-like acting of Jesse? I feel like I'm watching Mallrats all over again whenever he opens his mouth. He has no chemistry (pardon the pun) with Walter, and it shows by the way he belts out his lines. He has zero timing, and zero grace. If I didn't know better, I'd say the actor was tone deaf.

2.) Walter needs to stop making stupid faces all the time. He looks constipated in half the scenes. Yeah, I get it.. He has cancer and financial problems and fucked up shit is happening, but half the camera shots on him are just him looking like hasn't taken a shit in 4 days.

3.) Some boring scenes go on forever. I'm reminded of the intervention scene where his wife and sister-in-law + DEA husband sit down and confront him about his unusual behavior. I swear to fucking God, that scene was 15 minutes of ham-fisted melodrama that could've been cut down to maybe 5.

Sorry to be Capt. Buzzkill here, but I did take the overwhelmingly positive opinion on good authority. I'm glad everyone else is enjoying it I guess. Overall the story outline is good, and quite original, but I think I've been spoiled by HBO. I do admit that I enjoyed the basement scene where Walter debates whether to unlock the drug dealer from the support beam. But again, we didn't need to see Walter fuck about for the key for 5 minutes. *SNORE*

I don't know, call me crazy but watch this scene. Can you honestly tell me that their rapport has progressed at all since the first episode?

I mean, think about it. After the first batch and subsequent fallout, Jesse takes up the business with one of his drug buddies. Strangely, he throws away two perfectly decent batches of crystal. Wait a minute, what sort of tweaker/opportunist would do that? He goes from loud-mouthed idiot sidekick to perfectionist? Fine, I can suspend my disbelief a little. After all, it's a fictional TV show.

So with his newfound appreciation for chemistry, Jesse concedes that he needs Walter to synthesize these perfect crystals, and yet here we see Walter ask him to run a simple errand and it's loudly interjected by Jesse saying, "YO MR WHITE I CAN'T EVEN PRONOUNCE HALF THIS SHIT!"

It's this sort of lack of continuity and character development that made me turn the show off.

^it definitely isn't the best show. don't worry, this is bluelight. what do you expect?

You can dislike or even hate it all you want but you're not going to convince anyone to dislike and hate it too. I get your point(s) and was even laughing at some of it...after reading that I can already see the new season starting, Walt staring off past the camera with that look of utter doom, then....*Ahhhhhrgh!!!,,,WTF ..is...?? Skylar!!!!!* Then he does the worlds longest, hardest and loudest projectile diarrhea shit ever in man kind...shit flying out like rocket flames...him blasting off through the roof into the sky and blowing up another plane. LOL. He'd blow up and die...then the "cancer" from inside him would burst into a million pieces of eadible sugar confetti, because he really didn't have cancer, his doctor just sprayed a microscopic mist into the air that would make Walt cough blood and feel fluish in between visits.. "It was just mean't to be a "Lol", but Walt took it too far, so I couldn't resist to keep the prank going."...says the doctor.

You're dissing Jesse the character and not the actor right? Because that guy is a good actor, he does good with what he's given. I like the Jesse character though, as he's the epitamy of all the low level tweak dealers I've known. Just because he helps Walt cook good crystal and throws away the bad shit he's supposed to be a changed man? Yeah right, he's still just a very ignorant person in general, but you definately see some of the reasons why he's such a douche sometimes, he just takes it out on the wrong people. After all, he's a tweaker and now a junkie too. It's not like Walt has shown him the light or something. He's a very fucked up uneducated and ignorant person....a la "a TWEAKER".... lol, I'm done.

Ya, in retrospect I feel like kind of an ass for sharing my thoughts. I just figured I blew 7 hours on it, might as well give my .02

I'm sure the actors are talented in their own right.

I've never seen an episode of BB, but your sentence reminds me of a moment in Luis Bunuel's The Fantom of Liberty where the doctor tells his patient that he has terminal cancer, and the patient waits without saying anything and then gives him a powerful slap in the face. lol.

I used to think no drug dealer could be as stupid as Jesse, but my experiences when I used to deal drugs changed that.. One of my clients was just as white, had super rich parents that let him drive around in an Audi TT and Audi A8 and het talked a mixture of preppy kid / 50 cent type street talk. He would call me and say "Yo G you got some benzos bro, no? that's whackk yo!!"

Man, Skylar seems like an even BIGGER bitch in the commercials than usual. I hope Walt goes ape-shit on her.

ah shit :X

hey, am i the only one who has wondered how the guy who plays the walt jr or whatever his name is now looks quite a lot like that old bler phisheklover (however it was spelt)?

AMC had been replaying every episode in order. They'd usually have 2 episodes on a night but only between 3-6am. Either way, I had only ever seen the first episode of season 2, until I happened to discover this last week. After getting caught up, I must say it's been one hell of an exciting week! Season 2 was crazy! Wow! I am so excited to see Season 3 now!=D

Bryan Cranston is such a great actor. This show is so awesome.

That's so frustrating that he can't tell anyone about the money. It almost seems like he wants to blurt it out sometimes. I actually thought he was going to say something about the money when he was drugged right before the surgery, but he mentioned the second cell phone instead. I also thought he was going to just tell Skylar that he'd made a fortune cooking meth, but that probably wouldn't have made too much sense.

From a drug standpoint, it really sucked watching them prep up those shots of H/meth, especially the first time. Though the needle point was incredibly long and she stuck it in his arm weird.

Lol, yea.. "Meth balls" are insain. I too noticed AMC was running BB over again about a week ago. I pulled up one of the net sode sides and watched them all in order in a few days and have to say I really enjoyed it even more this time around. (I already loved it before)..can't WAIT 'till sunday!

This has to be my favorite show right next to the Mighty Boosh...I seriously just want to sleep until the season premiere :P

My friends hate me because it's all I talk about...Lol. But they're starting to watch it...it won't be long til everyone is on my level. :D

Just started watching this today so I have some catching up to do. It's been great so far and I've only seen the first 2 episodes.

Haha, I just noticed in the episode where Badger gets arrested that he's sitting on a park bench that is advertising for Saul Goodman. It's right before they show the Saul Goodman commercial too.

I also noticed that the vans Badger points out (a brown van [all inconspicuously parked, yo] and a flower van 'Duke City Flowers'] are the 2 vans that pull up after the guy he sells to yells out "Albuquerque Police".

when i first started watching the show, i was like "oh okay, its like weeds". but then i was waiting for the funny. the funny never came. then realized, ah okay... "sort of a like a dark weeds, with some baddassery". ive seen all of season 2, none of season 1 (i need to remedy this), but im pretty much up to speed. i really cant wait for this next season!

BBB, I'm with you on "Weeds without the funny." I started with season 2 as well and found it much darker than season 1 (which actually had me laughing at points.) I hope season 3 rediscovers humor in the ridiculousness of the entire situation.

I like the duo of Walt and Jesse but think their relationship evolved a little slowly. I didn't really get the "father/son" vibe that they were shooting for until it was thrust upon me. In the 2nd season when Jesse cries into Walter at the crack house, it didn't feel like a experience natural to emerge from the relationship as it had been portrayed up to that point.

Skylar is an annoying character, agreed. Any scene with her always seems too long.

I love the show anyway, can't wait for tomorrow. Favorite episode? Peek-a-boo (the junkies and the ATM machine season 2)
