Trust me, it's a better bike. I'll get the HD in a year or two.
 
You can get some good deals on HD right now. I was at the dealership today. They had lots of bikes and not many people looking at them. It was oddly quiet for a nice Saturday in May.

I think that Harley's are overpriced for what they are. You can get a far better "bang for your buck" with other manufacturers. From what I have gathered, there are quite a few people who have various problems with them as well, they don't seem to be as reliable.

I think that if I had a bunch of money and could go out an buy any bike that I wanted, I would have a hard time between choosing a Yamaha V star 1300, a Victory Kingpin, or a Victory Vegas.

I rode pretty much all weekend this weekend. I went to a swap meet on Sunday and got a bag to put my amp in when I get my speaker/stereo system. There were easily over 1000 bikes parked at the fairgrounds where the swap meet was held. There was certainly a fair number of unsavory characters in that crowd that day, the Hells Angels even had a booth set up!
 
Windshield arrived last week.

Speakers ordered. :)

Now I just need to get some money saved up for my front floorboards and mustang seat!! (that will easily be a $600-$700 expense for both parts :()
 
Adding something new every year is part of the fun. You don't have to do it all up this summer. The floorboards and seat could be next season's new accessories! ;)
 
I know, but I want to do my seven state run this year and I'm not sure that I will be able to do that with the stock seat. I need to plan my route first and see how many miles it's going to be. I need to be able to walk in the days afterward. ;)
 
god i shouldnt even look in this thread. i want a motorcycle so bad.

i need to go take the safety course and that will probably make me go into debt and buy a cheap bike. it would probably be worth it though. :)

where are you going on this trip felix?
 
I was out on a relaxing ride, not drunk or high, and as I came around a sharp bend in the road a car coming from the opposite direction went over the center line and was headed for me. So I pulled as close to the edge of the roadway as I could and I went down a grass embankment. I came to shortly after with some broken bones and cuts. There was one other time when I was drunk and I just didn't put down my kickstand when I got off and it went over on me! The only thing injured in that incident was my pride because I did it in front of 1000's of bikers.

i always wanted a sick ass street bike, but a few months ago around 1:00 in the morning my boy was riding home from a party and lady ade an illegal u-turn and he hit the car (BMW) and flew off the bike, killing him.
now im not so sure, i might just stick to getting a car and soupin that shit up.

Speakers have been mounted and they sound AMAZING!! It's one of the most satisfying purchases that I have made. :)

This week I also ordered a set 4 inch handlebar risers with 1 inch kickbacks. If all goes well then this might mean that I don't need a new expensive seat. I'm hoping that the risers and kickback will align my posture so that my back and shoulders don't hurt anymore when I ride long distances. I'm hoping those will in the middle of next week. Wish me luck!! I would rather spend the $120 on the risers than $400+ on the new seat that I wanted. :)
 
Thanks JV, the paint scheme reminds of the old "John Player Special" racing teams of a bygone age. For example:

A friend of mine has bought himself a bandit & has bar end mounted mirrors, so I'm keen on seeing them sometime soon. I'm in 2 minds whether to change them just now.
