I miss my bikes so bad.

My first was a suzuki gs500. Great beginner bike that gets good mileage. It had enough power to keep me entertained for a year but I had to upgrade. My second bike was a 2003 Kawasaki ZX6R (636). That thing was a beast and handled like a dream. It was my baby. The fastest I got it up to was like 155mph, that was plenty fast for me. I had way too many tickets on it though so I had to sell it. The day will come that I get another bike, but I have other priorities at the moment. I'm thinking about getting a scooter soon though to put around town on and get 80mpg.

Okay so I don't really know what to classify my bike so I put it under cruiser. Its actually kind of a rare bike...its an 84 Honda Ascot VT500FT (Well, the front end is off of an earlier Honda Shadow) which of course is my dilemma. See the Ascot was actually a euro-sporty kinda thing with plastic and shit on it, but I've got the bigger Shadow Tank, Instrument Panel, and forks / handlebars on the bike now soooo....anyway, I put it under cruiser.

I just rode it from Glasgow MT to Miles City MT (Northeastern to Southeastern Montana) and then from there I rode it to Seattle (actuall Lynnwood, which is where I live.) All in all, about 1200 miles on the bike! whoot! My first long trip....lets see, where can I go now?
 
Fuck all this rain.

I finally rode my bike to work yesterday and it threatened rain my whole ride home. It would have been so bad if I wasn't wearing a sleeveless shirt and no face covering for my helmet. Riding in the rain in like having thousands of little needles stab you all over open skin, it's absolutely terrible!!

I think I need to move to the desert where it's warm/hot and dry. I don't think that I could though because there are too many desert creatures that I am terrified of, snakes and scorpions top that list!

Stop your whining!!! :! This is what riding a motorcycle is all about!

I've ridden through severe thunderstorms, hail, snow, dust, and heat. I've been pummeled by rocks kicked up from truck wheels, run off the road, swallowed bugs, and suffered bad sunburns. 8)

But I've also gone on some kick ass rides, enjoyed beautiful scenery, met cool people and explored wonderful new places! Half the fun is not knowing what to expect and experiencing whatever it is you encounter! %)

Come this winter when you're inching your way through the snow and ice in your car, you'll be wishing for a warm afternoon bike ride punctuated by a refreshing rain shower! =D =D

I once got stung in the neck by a hornet and cried the whole way home (which was about 10 miles or so).

I also had a bee fly into my helmet this year, I thankfully did not get stung.


You are true regarding your last sentence though, I will be begging for a warm day and maybe even a SLIGHT sprinkle if it means getting away from the snow and ice. :)
 
I don't see how people don't wear visors! I've caught some nice rock that would've taken a nice chip outta ma grill. I've been riding pretty much everyday. I ride to work and back at least. I've never ridden in the rain or anything like that. Don't really have much of an opportunity.
 
I don't really like riding with a visor over my face, first off any scratches in it are impossible for me to ignore, and forget about it if I have to ride at night, I will have little prisms all up in my vision. I also like the wind in my face and ears! :)
 
and bees, and hornets, and the rain... ;)

i don't really look after my visors too well, and i've never had a problem with scratches yet.

seriously though, if a large insect, or even worse - a bird 8o - hits you in the eyeball, there is a very real danger of you coming off the bike, possibly putting an end to your bike and biking career. and maybe leaving you half blinded.

it must be a cruiser thing. that and the whole 'loud pipes save lives' thing. ;)
 
I just got my first set up chaps today in the mail. My thermal gloves came as well.

I won't be cold doing fall rides anymore!!! :)

The chaps are a little "snug" so I am just wearing them around the house a little bit trying to stretch the leather.

My dad also bought me one of these for my bike, only the one that I have says "Lady Rider" on the side:
