Bloc Roll Call!!!

Pissing myself laughing at them guys dancing in front of the DJ it looks awkward as fuck, they look like a line of robots doing that one arm fist dance. Looks like they need more drugs.

Yeah you cant beat Sims for that pounding funky techno. He had the place rocking with 2 minutes. 3 deck wizard still carrying around all that vinyl.

Mike Dehnert - Pneumatic on now

Im off out to get wasted and listen to someone far inferior to this yaaayyyyyy!!;)

EDIT followed by Mr. G - Lord Have Mercy

fucking cunts! Pissed off they fucked this up. But the crowd made the best of it with an impromptu rhythm section.

Money back is required though. We managed to have a good time, in spite of whatever bullshit is claimed to have been the cause. Guardian article goes on about scenes of chaos but I don't recognise that at all, everything was mild mannered except the council/police heavy handedness. :(

Just been reading all the reports, what a shambles :\

Hope everyone is OK, the organisers are now saying they will offer refunds but that will be little consolation for those that have paid out on travel and accommodation, £2 for tap water and the best part of £100 a ticket....warehouse, sound system and a few quid in a bucket, but then I'm traditional like that.

edit- hey Knock, glad to see your OK, just read the reports of people playing drums on the containers:)

I stayed up most of the night worried for all my friends that were in there. So relieved panic didn't break out and nobody got hurt, this could have a been a tragedy like Love Parade 2010. 8(

I'm really sad about this, I went to Bloc last year in Minehead and it was hands down one of my favourite events ever. So much good music and an incredible vibe.

When I heard their plans for this year, it just felt wrong. They tried to make it sound so appealing, and I wanted to believe them, but I had a feeling from the start that it was going to go wrong. It's such a massive change to what they've always done before, in a brand new venue that wasn't even built yet when they announced it, here in London with a totally different crowd, urban cold stone environment vs sea-side village, carpets and arcades fun, ... no, I think Bloc is finished forever. Time to find something new.

I know there's refunds for the tickets, but I feel sorry for those who shelled out on travel and accommodation - bad buzz - I know from this thread PTCH was flying down and had an apartment booked, and I'm sure there was some punters flying in from Ireland and elsewhere.. don't think there'll be another Bloc after this fiasco

get back to butlins

Bloc need to put on a free festie for all those that got skanked this time.

They won't. But its the only way they can get any credibility back.

Good LORD it's gone tits up. There are various offers being made on Twitter to people with Bloc tickets / wristbands which, maybe because I'm a Lahndahnerrrr and feel slightly guilty, I may as well slap down here in case anyone's roaming around looking for things to do:

London Fields Brewery offering free beer to anyone with a Bloc Wristband

Hello Cosmonauts @ The Nest = free admission to anyone with a Bloc Wristband (don't know who they are, they might be some shit fey indie band for all I know)

Google Maps guide to shit that's going on now Bloc's been cancelled - I believe whoever's doing this is hoping some of the DJs will get alternate venues to play in which seems a bit optimistic but stranger shit has happened... and doubtless some fast-thinking entrepreneurs will be hoping to make some quick cash out of people with bags of drugs to eat and nowhere to eat them. This will hopefully be added to over the course of the day:

https://maps.google.co.uk/maps/ms?m...=0&ll=51.50336,-0.08229&spn=0.010846,0.033023

EDIT: PLEX look like they're doing a good job of hauling together DJs who ain't playing at BLOC - they're on Twitter at @PlexLondon ... they have a 1000 capacity venue sorted, apparently, free to people with wristbands or printouts of their tickets. It could turn out to be fucking amazing.

Obviously this is just random shit I'm pulling off Twitter so don't blame me if you turn up to 'Orbital playing at 2am on Hackney Marshes' and it's just kids on BMXs looking to tax you.

Angry people slagging them off on their FB page, which was then deleted (link to screengrab) > http://twitpic.com/a4pei0

I'm really sorry it's gone to shit after he dropped so much money on flights, accommodation and entry but I'm genuinely looking forward to reading PTCH's bile-filled descriptions of the chaos.

In this day & age with all the technology N money @£100 a ticket n they can't put on a party they should be shot.

Many moons ago( well today even ) you didn't have to pay fuk all for a quality weekender .
I feel for the folks that have flown from god knows where spent tons of cash n so on .

Of the 2 events This n The Roses Gig i would have thought the Roses Gig had more chance of going belly up.

Theirs bound to be alternative things happening never know might turn out better i like it when things are a bit random

Just to offset my previous philanthropy slightly I've thought of a joke: (sings) 'Ain't no Stubnitz now, You're on the move.'
