Oh definitely, for me though its usually during the wintertime when I party down for black metal solstice...where the only thing to listen to is metal...and the only things to drink are metal.

my favorite black metal band is immortal. and darkthrones punk shit sucks really fucking hard, i love blaze-panzerfaust, sucked for a while after that, hate them and sardonic wrath are decent, then the punk shit is horrible.

immortal are fucking awesome. The only black metal band i still listen to, other than carpathian forest. Sons of northen darkness is right up there with albums like abbey road and piper at the gates for me. As for pretentious metalheads, it all depends on what metal. Black metal heads are as bad as numetal heads imo. Grindcore fans are all about the head bangin' and are always too off their faces to have personal feelings of supremacy! Although i understand it's meant to be kvlt, the reason i stopped listening to black was because of the lame arse, raw, necro recordings. It's just an excuse for poor musicianship, then again anyone can learn to tremello in 3 weeks. Don't mean to offend anyone

What ya think of Circle The Wagons? I would agree that its fuckjing shit.

ATM its Deathspell Omega doin the goods for me. Fucking awesomely weird band....

However, nothing will top Darkspace for me- the most eerie evil metal around....RAAAAAAAAR

Nokturnal Mortem sucks IMO. That's not the kind of BM I like.

The new album is actually pretty good, if you can ignore the racist cunt behind it all- which I find difficult.

I was quite impressed with the new Burzum album. I was skeptical at first, seeing as how it's his first album in like 10 years but Belus definitely came through. Classic Burzum, very Det som engang var. I thoroughly enjoyed it, however I think Varg is a musical genius so I'm somewhat biased.

i really only like post prison burzum after they only let him work a casio and he started breaking out and carjacking fools. the burzum BM stuff i dont really care for that much.

Black Metal I'm pretty limited to Dimmu, Emperor, Mayhem, Naglfar and erm...Immortal, Vampiria, Satyricon & yeah that's it - been a while since I really been in the mood for much metal Trying to pick myself into sunnier moods...Metal is something I'm working my way back into quite slowly having been a bit of a metal head for a long time - I think it may have been because, like someone said previously, metalheads are far too...I dunno the same and downer-ish - smile eyy

I thought I was done with black metal for good until I happened upon all this crazy French BM: Blut Aus Nord, Deathspell Omega, Spektr, Antaeus, Peste Noir... and Alcest, if one could call them black metal (I'm not sure I would, but Souvenirs d'Un Autre Monde is stunning nonetheless). In general this whole "post-black metal" or "blackened shoegaze" thing is kinda fun as I've liked both BM and shoegaze for a long time and have always heard similarities between the two.

Njiqahdda's Yrg Alms (not French but USBM) is without a doubt my top pick right now; I just can't get enough of it. Of course this little BM binge of mine will probably end within the next couple of weeks and I'll not touch it for a few months, but so it goes.

I saw Dimmu Borgir in 'Frisco a few years ago. It was a pretty good show, they played with Unearth and two other bands.
