Hey how are we all?

Since bigdayout Sydney was impossible to get tickets for i got tickets for the queensland show. Who is going, any bluelight meets?

^ hahha. I am going but am suspicious about major pond scum factor that attend this event. I would like to meet up with anyone/everyone who does not:

a) think metallica are wwwwwwwwwwwwicked
b) fuck surfie chicks (and are proud of it)
c) carry cartons of XXXX around with them all day with their shirts off.

Other than that, meet's ahoy. I think a few of the others are going.

This is the press release from BDO about the ticket scalping issues. On the news last night its put the promotors out of pocket so much just for taking ebay to court :(

much respect for trying to do the right thing thouh for those of us who dont buy from ebay.

Big Day Out ... Down but not out!!!


Well, what a difference a day makes.

In what can only be described as a win to the legal system over common-
sense-logic, the Big Day Out today lost its right to stop ticket scalping on
electronic auction sites.

The court case lodged by eBay attacked the process and not the objective
and in taking the moral high ground has exposed that good intentions count
for nothing once you are in a court of law.

We sincerely apologise that we have let our supporters down. The decision
today means that for this year, we are not able to stop, or even slow, the
parasitic process of ticket scalping.

Rest assured, next year will be very different.

The irony is that the consumer is the person who attends the show, not the
ticket seller. Their rights have been ignored.

We feel that this is a fight that needs to be won. Hiding in the information
super highway is no excuse.

Time wounds all heels.

I finally got a ticket so I will be running around Sydney somewhere. I'm looking forward to seeing The Herd for the fifth time and also Lily Allen.

I'm kind of meh about everything else.
 
I am really excited and sick of all the haters out there. I cannot wait to see:

The Presets, Peaches and Hot Chip

All three should be fucking excellent. I would also say i am looking forward to The Killers, but this is offset by my desire to avoid getting crushed. I am not really into that this year :\

Other than that, Kasabian, Muse, Soulwax and Crystal Method all should be fucking cool as well.

ps Lily Allen is a douche

I am also excited about Peaches. I forgot about her.

PS. I actually own the Lily Allen album and she is sarcastic and cynical as fuck plus she has a wicked voice. I consider myself generally more authorative on the subject than anyone who is basing her on the song "Smile", which I'm assuming is the category you're falling into.

PPS. Fuck off.
 
Hhaha. My angsty friend, I too have Alright Still, and i had to say i was very dissapointed. I actually did like her after hearing Smile and a few other tracks, but overalll, quite dissapointing.

ps a real man would not listen to Lily Allen.

A real man would admit to liking music he does like instead of hiding behing a false facade.

I like Lily Allen. My only complaint is it only an 11 song CD.

PS Anyone who likes emo is unqualified to comment on music, at all/in general.

I"m with you LostPunk. I find Lily Allen's CD incredibly infectious and I'll keep an eye out for you when i'm somewhere up the front bouncing around when she plays her set!
 
I absolutely adore Lily!! Her album has been on repeat for about a week now :p

I just love that she's this tiny little thing with an angelic voice with poppy fluffy music and the lyrics just don't match. She's awesome =D

I din't really get into the music but as soon as i started listening to the lyrics i was just in love. My new favorite chick singer =D
