Well Fuck me!! What have you been reading?? 8) if that's your opinion on why it's a bad thing to be motivated by profit then maybe you should reconsider going to the BDO all together because the people who organise this this event and all other events like it have got one thing on their mind, and *NEWSFLASH* it ain't the starving fucking urchins in far off places.

I never said it was leftist propaganda, all I'm saying is - if you wanna hate on people for being motivated by profit, and the chance to get ahead because they're all forgetting about the homeless, the poverty stricken, endangered animals and the working class then donate your 120 bucks you'd spentd on the ticket to charity, get off your comfy couch, and out from behind your computer quit your job, forget about uni/tafe etc and go over there and do something about it, instead of making squishy senitimental statement like

Remember when that stupid Shaun McCarlaugh(sp?) show was on and he kept jumping on his high horse? No one gave a shit so they axed it.

lostpunk: you're right. the system is fucked up. worse, people are fucked up. we have tried alternaltives but they've all fallen way short of the ideal. i hate capitalism but at least its honest and after 1000's of years of repeating human history if you think there is a genuine alternative that works then i will probably play the sceptic. i get paid well for what i do, but i do not do it for the money, there is no way i could rise above mediocrity otherwise - i'd like to think there are some people out there that are the same and i think its worth it to give them the benefit of the doubt

swifty: i know that reaction very well. i wouldnt want to speak for you but for me its evoked by the perceived moral low ground. guilt + some fucker saying they are better than you. chill, neither are true in this case

err, on topic: i think i missed it again this year .. so fucking unorganised :(

You know what. I'm not a superhero, I don't understand how you expect me personally to save the entire world, or otherwise fall short of your expectations.

My main issue in life is with how we treat our environment. I'm out of a relevant TAFE course and now in the industry. On a daily personal level I am improving the integrity of the Australian bushland. Within the scope of my personal life I think I'm doing a pretty good job of putting my money where my mouth is.

I'm not having any trouble sleeping at night.
 
Start another thread if you guys want to debate the merits of capitalism.

Those four (plus the herd) seriously made me consider going to the BDO this year, after years of swearing off it and going to rainbow serpent instead.

I will, however, be consoling myself with the fact that rainbow on sunday and monday fucking kicks ass. =D

Muse are most definitely doing sideshows :)
Unsure as to whether their Sydney show (shows?) is (are?) sold out yet. Might be worth a quick squizz on tm7 or ticketek if you want to hit one up.

i really do believe that originally they were truly about bringing a decent festival to oz. these days?

still they could probably sellout more than they have...like that company obey (the us clothing brand that i recall years ago was born in the skate industry and used andre the giant as their logo...ethos was against corporate cock sucking and being a slave to corps that had nothing but profit on their minds...then a few years ago they co-sponsored a skate/music festival in the usa with sprite. sprite!)
