Big Day Out 2007

Well all my friends will be going to see those pretentious fucks Tool so I guess mainly I'll just be going for the day and atmosphere with The Herd an added bonus. Hopefully they'll get a spot they deserve this year on a bigger stage instead of hidden away again.

I don't think I'll be heading along, I'd prefer just to catch some side shows. Don't know if they will all do side shows but I'd be up for seeing Peaches, Violent Femmes and Muse. The rest I'm pretty meh about about.

I'm more excited about Meredith Music Festival (vic). Best festival in Aus.

Aww yeah. I think I'll go to this one. And look at it this way - the friday is for recovery. Either that or they're anticipating selling out within two days like they did for Metallica.

you have got to be fucking kidding me

big day out 2000 and 2001 were the only decent ones this decade, the rest were absolute shite

Agreed, to a certain extent. Definitely 00 and 01 were the only ones with exctiting line-ups - the others had good to decent to terrible (04) lineups, at least in terms of my taste. 2000 was especially good, although the Peppers sucked arse. But this years line up, with a few more acts added, could be as good as 01, and maybe even as good as '00.

just before the rush comes, i'd just like to say FUCK THE SCALPERS AND EBAY CUNTS who will buy up and sell them back at inflated prices. :X

i'm going to sydney :)

The hotel at Olympic Park, Sydney, is called the Novatel. There's also an Ibis right next to it :)

Sounds like a brilliant lineup. I'll be getting my ticket as soon as they come out to beat all you fuckers :D

woooooooooooooooooooooot
love big day out
this will be my fourth year in a row - cantfucggenwaitcantfuggenwaitcantfuggenwait!!!!!
i'll be there for muse n jet so far.

There's a few acts I'd really, really like to see on that list, but I don't think I'll make it this year as it clashes with rainbow serpent which I'm keen to go to.

Tbh, I'd much prefer to see an act like that in a smaller arena where the whole crowd is rocking out. Hilltop Hoods was supremely lacking in atmosphere on the mainstage compared to other gigs I've seen them play. You get a lot of people hanging round at the mainstage who are just waiting for the next act.

I think the reason Hilltop Hoods didn't really fill the stage is because they only have two people up front and two DJs hidden away at the back.

I think The Herd would work well on a larger stage, it always looks crowded up there on a smaller stage with nine people :)

the BDO has died in the arse IMO.

lineup has sucked HARD for two years now, since the move in melbourne..

if tool wasnt in the lineup, it would be like burning your money

My thoughts exactly.
But i'll probably still be there.

Hoorah for Meredith! (only 8 and a half weeks now!)

For me, last year and 2003 were pretty damn good, and 2004 had a fantastic Flaming Lips show that made up for the rest of the event being dull.

This year looks completely missable. Violent Femmes I've seen a dozen times, they'll put on a good show, and the crowd will love 'em, but I'm bored of hearing that album over and over again. I hate Muse. I appreciate Tool, but I'm not a fan. The Killers have some good tunes, but the tapes I've seen of their live shows look dull, and the singer was tunelessly awful at Glastonbury.

So nothing for me, I'm afraid. But then I'm waaay too old to be the target audience, anyway.

La la la....

Ok fine i'll contribute something worthy....i'm getting on net @ 9am (well my wife is) friday morn to get min. 4 tix for us....not missing this one :) I love the carnival of it all...

Fucking ticketmaster didn't open till 10am. I got there at 9.30am, had to be at work by ten. So couldn't get any then
My b/f missed out on getting them online before they sold out. ARGGHHH

$400 ON EBAY. CUNTS mother fucking turds

They should only be able to sell 2 tickets per person. I'm furious. I knew it would sell out quick.

Hence we're going to melbourne BDO now. Tickets purchased.

Got my ticket today for sydney. I'm a big fan of Tool and have seen them live several times and am looking forward to seeing them in a festival setting. Muse are awesome live and I hear the killers put on a pretty good show.

So i'll be looking forward to this one.

Sim0n, I think I watched that killers set on bbc when I was in uk. Missed out on actually going to glastonbury. They looked and sounded pretty cool on tv, and the audience was seemed really responsive.

Tickets to Melbourne BDO have been purchased here.
I haven't been in 3 years. Should be goodly :)

Aren't there two Sydney shows? Since the BDO that Metallica played, I thought there were always 2? Its possible I made all this up in my head.
