It's not bunk - I mean compared to MDAI which is total bunk - but it's really not worth the hassle because the high only goes half of where it should and yet the comedown seems to be of MDMA proportions so far.

I just got some 5-iai from a place that I get genuine 6-apb from. It is not tan it is very off white almost like a light grey colour.It produces the strangest marquis test I have ever seen...it goes straight to dark purple then dense black but has a perfect yellow ring all the way round the black? Havent tried it yet but its said to have been tested genuine and is said to be a whole lot stronger than the tan stuff. Has a unique smell to it too.

5-IAI has roughly twice MDMA's affinity at both the serotonin and dopamine transporters.

Lower numbers mean higher affinity. You're looking at the "reserpine" column under serotonin and dopamine to find releaser activity at either transporter. Incidentally, it appears that MDA is more efficient as a dopamine releaser than MDMA. I was not aware of this.

My tan sample went to dark purple/black but no yellow ring.
Could this have been some of the reagent that did not react?
The EZ kits I have had seem to vary in colour. The one I have now is a mustardly yellow colour.

Anyway it will be interestng to hear how you find the off white stuff.
 
500mg was nice (for me). You can feel the serotonin, it had me yawning quite a lot at first. It was mildly psychadelic and with Mephedrone added became very euphoric with an entactogen-empathogen edge. However, I'm still not convinced what we have is genuine 5-IAI. If it is, it's almost definitely really impure.

I'm pretty convinced it's not. Here's why:

5-IAI was twice as potent as MDMA in vitro at SET and DAT, and in rats in MDMA substitution. Here people are claiming it takes 500 mg, not 60, to produce a reasonable high. If those values are correct, it should be twice as potent as MDMA, not a fifth as potent.

I also don't think you should be looking for a copy of MDMA; take the new compound without expectations.

I don't think that adding mephedrone to it makes a valid test really. Mephedrone is great on its own. But anyway though in what way do you feel it enhanced the meph?
 
Got to agree something doesnt seem right about the 5-iai situation. Im wondering myself if what people have been taking is actually 5-iai??
 
i have used all my gram of 5-iai that i was sold (supposed to be 5-iai anyway)

bassically it was all but inactive even at fairly large doses. i wont be buying any more unless there is a serious change in the product or proof that some real or better stuff arrives etc.

Interestingly though in the paper it says

so maybe the effects people are getting is just the way it is.
 
^ MBDB is alreay a huge step down from MDMA, and I imagine the S isomer of MBDB probably isn't THAT much better.

If 5-IAI is substantially less potent than S-MBDB than no wonder the effects have been extremely weak even at larger doses. MBDB is a very weak, slightly sedating MDMA-type high.

The large doses people are reporting are probably not worth it. It seems 5-IAI may be another one that sounded good on paper but doesn't deliver in reality. Unless the "legitimate" 5-IAI everyone is talking about is impure or a different chemicals, but I'd guess how long it took to finally show up indicates it probably is legitimate 5-IAI and the paper is correct, it is simply substantially less potent than S-MBDB.

Funny that sentene was overlooked unti now. Had anyone noticed it is substantially less potent than S-MBDB before all th hype began I wonder if 5-IAI would have ever been pursued?

I also wonder if many of the "bunk" batches of 5-IAI that have been available were actually legitimate 5-IAI?

Yeah looking at the papers it probably now doesn't actually look that good. Would they have pursued it? Probably I guess, depending on how easy it's to synth (probably not that easy given the age it's taken to appear) and what else they have in mind, highlighting the discrimination data and quietly hoping no one notices the less potent than might be anticipated bit.
