I thought his part was still awesome. His accent was exaggerated, but hilarious, IMO.

Just lost big (for me ) post re: F & T bollocks ~ tell me good films ~ like reality based stuff ~ trainspotting type thing ~ boys from the blackstuff ~ yeah you never even heard of it no doubt, ~ good british reality based stuff and i'll watch it ~ trawlimg through hours of dross isn't my idea of fun !
One good thing mind id *scrubs* and god forbid it is american !!!!!!! Horrified of northern england !

Sean Connery, You know, the Scottish guy, Playing the Russian sub capt, in Red October... But i seemed to be the only person EVER to pick it up!.. but it ruined it for me..

Or Mick Jagger playing Ned Kelly... And Americans trying to have the Aussie accent, and it makes them sound like that are from the deep south...., Aussies doing American accents it worse! I cant even think what that sounds like!

Bad-
Robert Downey Jr. in Natural Born Killers
I think it's meant to be Australian.

Good-
Hugh Laurie in house...

American accents are VERY easy to impersonate. There are heaps of Aussie actors in Hollywood that have no trouble pulling it off.

I am yet to hear a single person accurately impersonate the Aussie accent. Everyone always goes overboard with it and ends up sounding like Steve Irwin, who took the Aussie accent to the nth degree.

i agree.

i always wondered why he had to be russian? why not just make the character american?

it would be better than that horrible attempt at an accent.

i cant believe everyone has forgotten the holy grail of bad accents.
Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins.

it can get no worse

Natascha McElhone does a mean irish accent in "Ronin".

Yes, fuck yes. I wasn't even thinking about this until I just read that. Not only that, the movie is simply bad ass. And she's kinda hot ;)

I seriously can't believe I forgot about the extremely bad English accent Thora Birch had in The Hole. As much as I love her, she truely sucked in that film :\

Indeed. I also agree on all points. That film fucking ROCKS, especially the car chases. And if you've been to Nice you can appreciate it even more.

And I have recently decided that I want an Irish girlfriend/wife. Nothing less will do now, I

the accent. (Irish, that is, not Northern Irish.)

:D

I think Leonardo di Caprio is a total and complete failure at every accent he does-- from The Gangs of New York to The Departed to Blood Diamond. Why do they keep casting him in these roles? He has caused me much consternation over these years :p

I think Brad Pitt does a good pikey
