mm I bet its lovely in the South of France right now.. When is the grape harvest? Has it finished?Are there vineyards where you are?

No it's raining this morning =D

There are vineyards everywhere here, lol. The grape harvest is in late august/september, so yeah, it's finished now.

I don't have a camera, but I'll buy one cheap to show you the house and the surroundings ;)

You know what is cool? When you really badly need to get a job, and instead of finding it, it finds you.

Just got a call from my old work, apparently they heard I was back in the state and they want me back in accounts, with a raise.

Time for a celebratory shot.
 
Bah. I nearly got a job the other week, they told me to come in for a chat then I could start straight away. Just before I come into work, i get a text saying the position has been filled. Then earlier this week, they call me in hospital saying position's open again, i tell em to call me back next day, never do.
And then another vacancy leaves me a voicemail saying 'get in contact if you're still interested' without leaving a number or any contact details. Bah.
 
^Maybe that was the challenge? The successful candidate must demonstrate initiative and resourcefulness, like cunning Odysseus?
 
It was a cleaning job. I think the only resourcefulness I need to demonstrate is the ability to understand basic english.
 
Ah, you would have been then more like Hercules, cleaning the stables? (I find life is more fun if you compare yourself to classical heroes).
 
Yay classics! If we all pitch in, we can elevate this social thread to a lofty ivory tower. I hope to get around to learning Ancient Greek some day (both to read classical poems/plays, and also to read the New Testament in the original. I get all excited at the prospect of being able to tell chapter-and-verse-spouting zealots that their understanding is not consistent with the nuances of the original Greek. I'm a bit of a nerd, aren't I?).
 
Nonsense I say

Well, i'm awake, took a bit too much Dexedrine yesterday (25mg total) so I'm pretty tired today. What a crazy difference just taking a 48 hour break from stimulants makes on tolerance.

I ended up having to take 50mg diphenhydramine, 1mg lorazepam and 3mg melatonin to get to sleep last night, and it still took a solid 90 minutes to work (most likely due to the lorazepam)

Lol dont get to excited theres reams of debate around the 'correct' translations of biblical hebrew, aramaic and greek.

Hey NT.. had a slacky day today.. need to get on with some work in a min..
 
It's not fine, it's miserable and rainy, although that should make for a weighty mushroom harvest tomorrow, so I can't really complain.

Yeah, but as long as my interlocutors don't know that (which they probably won't), it'll be sweet and dandy. I want to win arguments, not be right.
 
Yeah. They grow out of the grass, rather than shit, here, which is nice.

Every time you mention Windsor, the Lego logo flashes in my mind. Now that's effective marketing.
