"Bad" Social Drug Stigma - Junkie or User?

im not anti drug and i hate cigarettes and alcohol personally.

if you want people who have an opinion that drugs are shit and users are scum to look like they are close minded and wrong then calling them pieces of shit would reduce you to "their level" would it not? People can have opinions and can be very opinionated.

I don't like alcohol scenes or the meth scene. It comes down to the person I guess as someone who trips on LSD, hugs people on E and smokes pot and still go and steal and assault people for their next drug trip or fix, but its more associated with heroin and meth etc, and to a smaller degree pot. Alcoholics can as well. But Im not anti-drug or a fucking bible basher or anything like that, i just have opinions of a few drugs that can bring out the shit and evil in some people.

Of course I have known people like you describe and met a lot of them but I know its worthless trying to "convert them" just like its impossible to argue with a Christian on their beliefs

If you have been shooting up drugs for 15 years, I can definitely see the damage thats been done dude.

Lemme ask you a few questions.
Whats your main drug of choice over those 15 years, do you have any fucked/damaged veins. Have you ever shared works like spoons or water with a used syringe, have you got a STI or other blood borne disease, how many times have you stolen to fund a habit or any lother crimes related besides drug use, sale and possession and have you ever dropped from shooting up.

what are you talking about when did Shulgin go to jail?
As far as I know he's never been charged with a drug crime although he did get visits from the feds after his dea license was taken away
and they stepped all over his poor cactii

Whats so bad to ask about those things? I would be happy to answer them. I was an IV user in the past but now I only do it as few times a year

Yeah panadol always gets me mad fucked up, you eat a whole box and it's like a mix of cocaine and mushrooms.
 
^^^Lagger - I've reseached all the drugs i've taken beforehand so as to limit any possible health contingencies that may arise, that said, I don't have any particular drug of choice, as I like them all very much, like music. After being trained how to inject safely from a trained nurse, and I know that the chemicals I procure are as safe as they possibly can be. read - not from a street dealer. Never mind the specifics, suffice to say that most of them are a pure as can be (no added impurities / cutting agents). I have quality sources.
As with the questions you've asked of me, i'd be happy to answer!
I don't have any damaged veins, because I inject rather infrequently, using sterile equipment. Allowing healing time in between.
I've never shared any kind of injecting equipment, nor have i ever used somebody elses used equipment.
I'd love to get an STI, but couldnt afford it, so i had to for the RS model...
The last thing i ever stole was $10 from my dads wallet when i was a kid. The beating nearly put me in hospital.
I've never been in trouble with the police for any matter other than a couple of general driving fines. I don't deal drugs if that's what you were getting at, I run a computer repair business.
And since I always know the quality of my chemicals, and that I am a fairly large person with a generaly high tolerance to substances, I have never OD'd in any way.
And you're right about Shulgin, he didn't go to jail, I was wrong about that, but they did fuck him over. Read - Greedy Governments.

you sound a lot like me, i did IV a lot and mostly knew the drugs except when it was random base/goey off someone else. but we always kept it safe as we could and i have a massive natural tolerance for all drugs except tihkal and pihkal psychedelics

and if i did have to choose a drug to live with on a desert island, it would be the one i have yet to try. opium.

As good as I know opium is, why would you choose a drug which you have never tried???

Opium is a mix of opiate alkaloids such as morphine, codeine and thebaine. If you have IV'd any opiates before, I'd imagine you would be very let down by smoking or eating opium...

I would personally choose something I am very familiar with and enjoyed a lot if it were to be my only drug available on a deserted island.

Unfortunately sarcasm doesn't always translate well on the internet so I'll have to add a disclaimer to this:

Crankinit was joking. A whole packet of paracetamol will have zero recreational value and could very well kill you. Slowly and painfully. The symptoms of liver failure may not appear for over 24 hours either by which time it's too late to reverse them.

i've read much about it. I have also sampled my fair share of quality heroin over the years, and as much as i loved the warm russian wave of IV smack, i never stick to one chem in particular while IV'ing it. Hence my tolerances go down somewhat. im talking months apart here. But i'd choose smoking opium because of the hundreds of reports ive read, this is the best addictive to live with, the most favourable and rewarding. not that an addiction is rewarding of course.
plus ur not gonna make lsd on an island, but one may grow poppys and have a small supply of smokable product.

and with that panadol thing i just meant that a lot of non-recreational drug users think its the be-all and end-all of miracle cures! right down the health isle at the local supermarket... next to the meth and cocaine tincture ;) <-- SARCASM. Supermarkets DO NOT carry thetincture of cocaine.

I have been wondering about this myself.... When does an addict become a junkie?? is there really any difference between the 2?? Why can some ppl use most weekends & keep it that way, and others can't stop??
I know i always got flack from other "addicts", I don't IV, so in there opinion i can't be an addict?? Clearly they're not in a great mental position... but I'm interested in the thoughts of others.
 
i just see it as another word for an addict, but maybe it is like african american people, if a "normy" calls me a junky its offensive "dont call me the J word Normy!", however its its another junky its all cool mate.

Because everybody is different.

And it's what you do with that flak from others, i suppose, that determines how they are going to treat the next "addict/junkie/user" that they meet.

If you hold them up at gunpoint because you want/need money for drugs, it re-inforces the bad social drug stigma, and in their mind your just the junkie scumbag that robbed them, not the guy/gal who enjoys a plug of smack now n then paid for buy his/her hard work.


And in that respect, i should learn to heed my own advice and not punch people in the street for calling me a junkie.
 
^^^brn_cuzzins - was that about youth mentors being addicted to the legal drugs themselves while trying to counsel young folk about getting off the drugs that they are addicted to? probably at the order of a court most of the time too...

I do believe mr cuzzins has had his own bad media drug stigma to deal with... ;)
