i voted #2. Ativan can be VERY recreational for me..but i have to take insaine doses. It's best, for me at least, when i take a "small" "booster" opiate dose to make some synergistic magic happen. It will put you to sleep like cake if you dose right for your body composition/tolerance, etc. And its one of the fastest "kicking in" benzos. That, and xanax, and halcion....and even klonopin if you sublingual it, and halcion if you snort or shoot it..(dont shoot pills people)...but let's stay on topic here, ok?
Yeah, anyways, ativan is a very USEFUL benzo vs. a recreational one IMO. It is a great anxiety/panic attacks benzo that will calm the waters quickly, without leaving you all fucked up like you're drunk, and in the clouds. Xanax on the other hand will hit you harder, feel fun, hits you just as fast about, if not fast, and fucks the hell out of you. If you feel like having fun with xanax, HIDE YOUR CAR KEYS and STAY INSIDE....a word to the wise.

Lastly, remember people, it's all about dosage, and everyone is different.

I have never hallucinated off loraz, and I've taken up to 30mg at once...didn't even fall asleep..then again i was on a 5 day meth binge, with coke on the side. :( sad times...but FUN!.. :\

Lorazepam is probably one of the crappiest benzos there is.

it doesn't have that typical "benzo feel", it's a bit different. it's more like ambien in my opinion.

Who the hell hallucinates off ativan, what type of things do you see? Streamers, breathing objects, or outrageous things that defenately arent there?

i have and so did my friend. not really hallucinate, more psychedelic, colors are brighter, slight breathing, nothing crazy, very enjyoyable IME.

my fav. benzo. as i have a very very low tol. to these drugs it is the most mellow enjoyable buzz from a benzo. it doesnt leave you all forgetfull and retarded~!

Ativan is no good, it takes too long (2.5hours for 90% of oral dosage) and even then it sucks. The half life of the active is 8 hours, so when you are ready to be "clean" you still have a dose on board. If you take 8mg at noon it will be in your system at 2:30pm and finally at 10pm you will have 4mg in your system. 6am in the morning 2mg, 2pm the next day 1mg, 10pm .5mg (still a "dosage" that doctors will prescribe for 'mild anxiety')

Don't take it, the long action and lack of euphoria makes it something that IMO is useful only for 'coming off' of other chemicals.

lorazepam blows. i've taken handfulls of the shit with little to no effect. and yes it was lorazepam (i was arrested with 500 ativans---dont ask me why.) that shit is like a wanna-be benzo. i've had similar experiences with clonazepam, but i think the dosage was too low (like 0.5mg) alprazolam and diazepam are the real thing. i've never taken any of the others. never heard of hallucinations either. now ambien on the other hand...

yeah i'd say it's fun and recreational (in both a warm blanket of nothingness kind of way and in a being super super spaced out kind of way). It also makes pot seem really magical. Ativan and pot has been a pretty cool experience, and i usually hallucinate on this combo, lights blur, seeing lights that arent there, imaginary images, feeling like i'm in a dreamworld. The dreamlike feeling that this imparts is hard to beat, in my opinion (except by ambien, which it is similar to but on a much weaker scale). I would rate ativan + pot as being cool in the same way as ambien but on a much smaller, more long lasting scale. The advantage is that for me, it works everytime and lasts, whereas ambien is hit and miss, the peak is short, and it jacks my sleep for days afterwards.

However, the extremely long halflife jacks me so much that i rarely use more than once or twice a year. (ativan makes me too chilled out and an emotional zombie for about 36-48 hours after i take it). That said, i do find it superior to some other benzos for its magical sedative effect. I also find it's the best for coming down off of massive speed runs, mostly because it lasts so damn long that it negates the crash, the day after weirdness, and it makes me not really care about any anhedonia for 2-3 days, because im so spaced out.

well... I think it depends of the people

my favourite is Diazepam, but after that, comes Lorazepam, its really nice
Alprazolam and Flunitrazepam are close too
Clonazepam would be behind, but close too

I had some slight visual disturbances, which I would not classify as hallucinationas per se, and I attributed to eye heavyness/fatigue. It was sedating, and not as good an anxyolitic as Alprazolam.

I used 12 mgs in one go.

I find it to be of better use when it is non recreationally used. For example to kill anxiety from opiate withdrawals or general anxiety attacks. I've tripped off of it before but it was a mistake and pretty much my vision just got blurry and i started seeing double which wasn't the most pleasent experience ever so i just went to sleep when i got home

I for one had somewhat of a psychedelic experience on 8mg of lorazepam and smoking weed. Most of it is a blackout, but I do distinctly remember one part.

I was actually reading bluelight. The windows on my screen were moving around, shrinking and swelling like they were breathing. The letters on the screen kept changing what letter they were. If I concentrated on them, I could move a white light around the letters, soon swirling and swelling over them on my screen, then I broke concentration and lost it.

Walking around random objects I saw were things like big black cats, and would disappear quickly after looking at them. Odd things.

I kept playing with it like that for a while.

So I dunno what to say.

I hallucinated off 8mg before (never done them before either) had to do coke nonstop to stay awake and cover up the shitty buzz. Hallucinations were very BAD, not bad as in scary, but It felt like they were cause by the shit like, fucking up my eyes. Like missing spots of my vision and shit.

Nothing

Well I heard Ativan sucked but it lasts a lot longer than most benzos so take more and periodically instead of all of them at once and you should feel pretty much like xanax or valium. Also down here in Nw florida they cost 10 fucking dollars! :! :( :p

I love ativan I even tried to get my script of xanax switched but my doc wouldnt go for it

I came in here to say the same thing. I want to see if my doc will script me ativan as opposed to the xanax I am currently receiving.

For those of you with scripts, and take it as directed with maybe the occasional double or triple dose for recreation, how do you like it?

Most importantly, how is the muscle relaxation from ativan? I know it has to be better than xanax for this, but how much?

Thanks guys
