Astrology Discussion: Natal Charts

Awesome readings saturnine :)

Tell me about myself, since I have lately been feeling like maybe I dont know myself as well as I think I do.

For anyone who would like to supplement these readings with other sources of personality assessment, I would suggest similarminds.org for your personality test source! Just a thought..

Nice work saturnine! At the moment I'm trying to find an exact birth time for Steve Irwin. I have a birth date for him (February 22, 1962) but no place and time. I ran a noon chart for Sydney and much of his chart is clustered in two large stelliums in Aquarius and Pisces. On the date of his death, transiting Jupiter was almost exactly conjunct natal Neptune (I can't tell you how many times I've seen tight Jupiter aspects in time of death charts - I wonder why) and transiting Neptune (sea, sea creatures) was conjunct natal Mars (bravery to the point of being reckless and foolhardy). Mars is square Jupiter in the natal chart which points to a brave and expansive personality, but it's still a square. Sun is opposed Uranus which would indicate shocks throughout life and, again, a propensity toward risk-taking. His Moon is the only planet not afflicted and it's in either Virgo or Libra (depends on what time he was born).

saturnine - Well, I can see how you got your name. ;) How are you dealing with transiting Pluto nailing your first house stellium right now? Yikes! And how's your luck with money? With that strong Cap influence and Jupiter in the 5th trining Saturn, I'd imagine it's excellent. :)

well, actually my jupiter's in the 4th house, but i still find myself to be somewhat lucky with money - but only when i really need it. i dont get to sit & revel in luxury, but that's okay with me; my capricorn influence isnt as strong as my happy-go lucky sag. influence is. as long as i have food!

i didn't know pluto was molesting my 1st house stellium, but it's not a surprise. i'm not having any identity crises, but i am in the process of moving and changing a few things in my life at the moment..

ah, mariposa420, i'm glad you're still active in the thread. you're adept at transits (i'm not), and that's a wonderful thing..

and thanks for the kind words, StagnatReaction and 'butterfly'. :)

^I stand corrected. Jupiter in 4th is a fantastic placement (as it's exalted in Cancer). I'm sure it makes you a little less saturnine around your home and family. :D

Pluto's right at 24 Sag right now - the same sign and degree as your natal Uranus! That's a potentially very profound transit, as with any transit it is what you make of it. I don't get into predictions, but when transiting Pluto gets out of orb of that stellium you will probably be breathing a major sigh of relief!

I like transits - Mars just entered my 1st house this morning and I'm already feeling a push to get more motivated, especially with exercise.

Has anyone here tried working with depositors? Or what I prefer to call planetary feudalism ;)? This is basically determining which is the most influential planet in your chart by counting how many planets fall into its parts. So for example, my saturn is in scorpio, and since scorpio is ruled by pluto, saturn tends to empower pluto in turn... and so on.

In my case, I found pluto to be the most powerful. Its fun to do!

depositors differ from 'chart rulership', right?

the "chart ruler" is supposed to be the planet that rules the sign on the ascendant.. mine would be jupiter in that case.

i think i may have depositors in one of my books, but i have many books and so many interests, it's hard to get everything down pat. (give me a break, i'm a gemini with sag. rising.. ;) )

speaking of books, i think someone asked for astrology book recommendations earlier in this thread..

i would suggest:

astrology, a cosmic science - isabel hickey

lewellyn's A to Z - llewellyn george

linda goodman's love signs (for relationship compatibility)

Wow thats so interesting. I'm going to try and find out his birth time!

Saturnine, you absolutely ROCK!!! You get my vote for best and most quickly-accepted n00b here at BL! You are gonna make lots of friends here, I promise! I've never seen someone make such an impact so quickly here before...

Anyway, your assessment of me seems pretty dead on! I especially like the part about "sun in the ninth house suggests that you indentify with the nomad, the seeker, the drifter.. your core being has a need to experience and comprehend much in this world. you may have a strong attraction to philosophy, politics, or religion." That is probably the aspect of myself that I most consciously identify with. It's how I got my name, Church, because some friends of mine noticed that I would talk an awful lot of matters spiritual and deep, which made them feel like the way they were taught that church was supposed to make them feel (but didn't).

As far as this:

neptune in your second house tells me you may be absent-minded or have a free hand in spending money.. you might also profit from the sale of drugs.. (hey, it's in the stars, i swear!)

Ummm... I don't know what you are talking about!! [shoves hands in pockets and starts whistling] ;)

=D

shucks..

thanks! =D

i'm glad you found it accurate. i really got a clear portarit of a distinct personlity from your chart, church, more so than when i first read my own chart (i'm full of opposites..)

There are a lot of rules that apply to dispositorship. The term "rulership" is often used the same way but dispositorship as a concept is more complex. I'm still struggling with all the rules.

Put simply - the dispositor is the ruler of the sign in which the planet resides.

Alan Oken explains this far better than I could in Rulers of the Horoscope. It's an excellent intermediate-level text (Oken explicitly assumes the reader is not a beginner) whose sole subject matter is dispositorship.

In your case, I'd say Saturn gives Jupiter a run for its money as final dispositor (less than 5 degrees from the Ascendant in the 1st house), but the placement of Jupiter in 4th (i.e., accidental dignity - Cancer naturally rules the 4th and Jupiter is exalted in Cancer) in addition to your Sag rising... Jupiter wins.

saturnine (or anyone) - What do you think of my chart? I'll tell you if you're on target. I haven't met many Mercury-ruled Sun Sign Arians. If I were objectively studying me, I'd see a big ball of contradictions. What do you see?

And just as an aside, astrology seems to be following me. I met an horary astrologer in line at Borders today. I think horary is mostly crap (I did the famous "where is my purse" exercise and found it lacking in accuracy) but it's always interesting to randomly meet other astrologers :)

Hey saturnine, wanna do me?

Oh I'm so very punny... :D Now that I've gotten that out of my system... My chart is on page three. :)

mariposa420, you have a very interesting mix of energies going on in that chart. as you said, contradictory in some ways. (ow my brain!) i'll have to give it a look when i'm not so lazy-minded.. ;)

kittyinthedark, you have a very aries-dominated chart. i'm guessing you're a very individualistic person.. strong willed, perhaps a little too impulsive, opinionated, a seeker of excitement.. ,maybe a tad competitive? even if you can come off as overbearing or self-absorbed at times, you probably gain favor of people easily with your frank, expressive and friendly/approachable demeanor (sun and moon in the 11th house). your gemini rising adds to your communicative and sociable qualities, and also strengthens the impulsiveness. pluto in the fifth house suggests you are a person with a great need to express your feelings and intuitions, possibly through creative means. if you were a painter, poet, or songwriter, i would say your work would be deeply reflective and self-revealing.
you may have a very up-and-down love life (no pun intended!) which may extend to an intense sex life..
saturn in the 6th (with no conflicting aspects) suggests a person of strong physical health. you are likely to be a hard worker and to try your best to maintain a healthy, practical life.
neptune in the 7th house - you are attracted to people with depth of feeling, possibly artistic in nature. you want someone who is deeply engaging in every sense; who has an almost supernatural understanding of your thoughts and emotions. since it lies in sagittarius, i'd also add that you might be attracted to rather outgoing, spontaneous people.
jupiter in house nine tells me that you could have an interest in philosophy, metaphysics, spiritualism/religion and/or law..

that's all for now, if anyone has questions or specific curiosities about their charts, i'll do my best.. send a message my way.

Poor saturnine! We're putting her little noobie ass to work here, aren't we? =D

We should start an astrology forum, and she and mariposa could be the mods!

LOL, it would probably be one of the better astrology forums out there. :D The only one I can tolerate to read (most are full of New Age crap and super beginner questions that can be answered w/Google) - is www.astrodatabank.com. Celebrity and newsmaker charts are freely available and there is a discussion forum for each. This week they're doing an Aries with Pluto in 1, same as yours truly - Al Gore. :D

FuturePig - your chart forms a "bucket" pattern (why it looked lopsided) - all your planets are clustered on the right half of your chart, with the asteroid Chiron as the "handle". Chiron is a really important asteroid in that it signifies the "wounded healer". The handle carries the bucket, so that's got to be a significant part of your identity. There's a significant 6th and 7th house emphasis, which indicates that your job/daily tasks, and the partnerships you have and form affect you deeply. I'd be very surprised if you weren't an excellent caretaker, especially with that Cancer rising. Venus in Aquarius in 8th - I can see this as a propensity for kinky/unconventional sexual practices. Your Capricorn Sun keeps you grounded, and I can tell you have a very big heart.

FN, I'll also have a stab at yours, but since I know you fairly well I can't be as objective as some of the others. :)

And saturnine gets my vote as newbie of the year. :)
