Astrology Discussion: Natal Charts

well, obviously i also know the traits of my sun sign..and all 11 others.
but if you take away the context of zodiac signs, and just answer with the most honesty possible about yourself, i think it's okay.

unless you're just so in love with being a capricorn.. :)

I did that quiz and i actually got pisces. Yay! I've always wanted to be a water sign! I admire their thought pattern.

Saturine, have you managed to look more in depth at my chart yet?

A question for everyone, is there any one particluar star sign you've found yourself most drawn too, one that reflects your personality even moreso then your own star sign? Or one that you wish you were?

I'm definitely an Aries, for better or worse... and I quite relish being one. I'm a survivor, I don't bitch about my circumstances before I try to improve them, and I'm a person of initiative.

Several of my close friends, my father, and my fiance are all Pisceans, which fall on my descendant angle. I also have a deep love for Leos - and they fall into my 11th house of friendship and associations.
 
^^ i seem to attract fire signs, specifically aries people.. while i am attracted to water and air signs. i find geminis, cancers, libras and pisces people in my family and social circles most often.
 
^Saturnine, what house system do you use for natal charts? My default is Placidus if I have an exact birth time and Equal if I'm doing a noon chart or rectifying a chart (which I normally don't touch, but I've made exceptions).

actually i may have accidentally used a chart with the koch rather than placidus house system for my chart i posted..

It seems that most of the people who have gotten closest to me in this life have been Scorpio. I always find myself with Scorpio best friends and girlfriends. Is it because I'm Scorpio rising? Or is it just because Cancers and Scorpios are supposed to be friends? I don't know, but every woman I've ever either been in love with, or thought I was in love with, has been a scorpio.

I love you, you fucking scorpio freaks!!! :D
 
Ordinarily I'm attracted to other fire signs. My partner is a Pisces Sun, Aries Moon (2 degrees from mine) and Capricorn rising, which is in an out-of-sign square to my Ascendant. We are about as different as two people can get and still be members of the same species. But his Sun sits right at the end of my 6th house (I interpret it in 7), and mine sits in his 4th. He relocated cross-country late last year to live with me.

I find Scorpios to be extremely loyal and devoted friends.

The worst trainwreck relationship wise was a Cancer with Cancer rising and a Sag moon. He was weepy and aggressive, and prone to outbursts of violence and dishonesty.
 
hha, yes, church, freaks are a good description of us scorpios. and so is loyal, as mariposa says...at least i like to think i am!

this thread has totally made me regret not putting more effort into astrology when i have delved into it in the past....it was sooo much more in depth that i ever thought it could be. i never got far before my ADD kicked in and i gave up.

mariposa what is a good beginner book??

in keeping with the discussion, i haven't noticed any consistencies in my past relationships, except that my two sons and hubby are all aries.
 
Funny that you mention Haley's Comet, because there's a dwarf planet that's about 1/3 bigger than pluto called Eris. Although it's 3x further from the sun than pluto, any celestial body near our solar system can make an impression according to astrology. I wonder what Eris will say?

Anything by Linda Goodman or Alan Leo. Once you get a bit further along, Liz Greene and Constance Stellas have done some decent work in special topics. Stay away from any of Sylvia Browne's garbage at all cost - predictions are potentially volatile for anyone, especially beginners.

I find that you can get a lot of beginner's info on the Web, though, and here's a great link:

Introduction to Astrology

The above is a multiple part primer containing definitions of the planets, the signs, houses, aspects, and some misc. lagniappe.

Make sure to learn the symbols for the planets and aspects to the point where you can draw them and recognize them on sight.

I am a huge fan of Alan Oken. He does not write much for beginners anymore but here's his primer: Alan Oken's Complete Astrology

What I wouldn't give to study under him... alas, he only accepts 6 students a year! Might write to him on a whim, though.
 
Saturnite, my wife looked through your chart and gave me a description of what stood out right away. let me say first that she is an excellent astrologer(iam defensive yes;) ), but she can tend to point out negative aspects. she certinally did in mine (we got married anyway). :)

she noted that you prolly put more responsibility on yourself than necessary, and that this likely stems from a relationship problem. this could be caused by a feeling of abondonment at some point in your life(mabey a parent died or left, mabey addiction). it is in your nature to need to shine in relationships. you will also have more then one love.

with jupiter in your house of home it shows that situations could be taken to extremes, but jupiter also represents luck. you may suffer from low selfesteem/image, but that you are very goal oriented. your sun placement gives you a quickwit, sarcastic, and strong analytical mentality.
 
^ alasdair, aquarius is similar to your sign, scorpio in that they both fall under the "fixed" modality (think that is on page 4 of this thread). :)

interesting analysis...i'd say it was 50% accurate.

here's my analysis of her anaylsis:

i'm hard on myself with respect to ethics and morals. otherwise i'm lax, and not overly responsible.

i'm not too big a relationship person; i work well with others and i like having close friends but i'm not really one to 'shine' or take the spotlight.
i'm not the type to have 2 loves at once (unless they know about it..).


i don't think i suffer from low self-esteem. i can be hard on myself at times but i'm confident in myself at the same time.

i am an idealist and i have some goals in life, but i'm not a total 'go-getter ' type. i'm more abstract than pragmatic. hedonism over acheivement!

i have wit, but i'm pretty sure it's slow. :o

as anyone can see i'm pretty analytical. but i'm more of a brooding creative type than a detached intellectual deep down.
 
I'm just looking for a bit of help interpreting a chart! I'll try and explain the best I can :).

There’s an Air grand trine between Saturn in the 10th house [in Gemini,] Mercury in the second house [in Libra,] and Uranus in the 6th house [in Aquarius.] In addition there’s an opposition from Uranus to Jupiter in Leo [12th], where Jupiter forms a T-square! Jupiter oppositions Neptune in the 6th [in Aquarius], and they both square Venus in the 2nd [in Scorpio.]

Does it mean anything that the grand trine is connected to the t-square through the opposition between Uranus and Jupiter?

Also, if anyone can help interpreting what all that means it would be great! ;)

A bump for all of you who have an interest in astrology. Haters need not reply.

I don't mind if we go off topic a bit. Mercury went retrograde on Tuesday - it's nailing the shit out of my 5th House (romance, kids) South Node (karma). Pluto also crossed my IC into my 4th house a couple weeks ago. Needless to say, my family/home life has been FAR less than stable, the transformations that have happened to me in the past week alone are absolutely shocking.

Saturn's also dancing on my 11th house Leo stellium, opposing said South Node...

I'm not having a lot of fun right now! I know this will all pay off - Saturn and Pluto give back if you learn their lessons well - but FUCK. this period of transition is kicking my butt heartily!
 
wow sorry to hear that love. I wish i could contribute to the discussion eruditely but alas im less than a novice at this. things seem in my life stagnant but i feel im keeping it at this level to learn something. i wonder if my natal chart reflects this.
