Oh, and as for one of the guy's parents saying he didn't use drugs... Well, he obviously didParents are not always fully aware of their kids lives. They like to think they are, but 7/10's of the time (or more) don't have a clue what they get up to.
^NO. It should not be.
Have to agree with this... and, again, if these lads did indeed have access to methadone, then that doesn't make them sound like innocent drug novices...

they mixed booze and "illegal methadone" so they probably didn't have much of a tolerance, i wouldn't be surprised if it was the booze and methadone that killed them... mephedrone is once again being used as a scapegoat.
Allthough i do agree that it is dangerous up to a certain point... if we had MDMA at reasonable prices people wouldn't be buying mephedrone
Has there actually been a case of anybody dying taking only mephedrone yet?
So these two guys have died at the same time, taking the same substances, over the same evening, whereas the last mephedrone death case was a while ago. None of the other (tens of?) thousands of people died taking it at the weekend.
It sad these boys have died but its worse the way the media uses it.
What's even funnier is the reason why I didn't buy any - £27 for a gramim not an idiot sir
I imagine his clientel that are spending that much on a gram must refer to it as Meow Meow in a cat voice too.
But maybe this is the solution, let the goverment set a minimum price for the stuff - at maybe 50 quid per gram (leave 10 quid for the retailer, and 35 for harm reduction efforts). People would use less and wouldn't but 10gs at once. If anyone sells it on the black market - let the IRS equivalent take care of it (they know their stuff).
love, m
The death of a girl in Sweden was attributed to mephedrone with no mention of other drugs
The ACMD will then write a full report, containing its recommendations, and present it to the Home Secretary, Alan Johnson.

You're right, it would be a startling (and tragic) coincidence for two mephedrone deaths to occur simultaneously like this. I think a mix up between methadone and mephedrone is at play somewhere along the line. Maybe the police or the media, or the boys themselves got the two drugs confused.
the BBC have a have your say page on their website which seems to be full of uninformed idiots voicing their opinions, with a few good answers inbetween.
Have your say peeps .

It would help if we had some idea of how long ago the drugs were taken - methadone can stay in the system for several days at least. Of course, we will have to wait for the coroner's verdict to know for sure, but by then the media may have dropped the story.
