Most of the time, a walk through the oceans of my thoughts would scarcely get your feet wet.I thought it was funny but unsure their was that slim chance you were trying to be deep.
Political bs is far out dates the late 18th and early 19th century. There have been bs promises centuries before this by lesser nobles who promise the peasants bs to pacify them. And include other rulers prior to the late 1700's or early 1800'sBetter than many, but not always accurate. I've seen several misattributed quotes in Goodreada. At the moment I can't recall the name of the really good site I found, but I'll try to find it and post it here.
No shit.
But who in the 1700s imagined a government that promised to "give you everything you want" ? No government ever did that nor did any government ever allege to do that. Nor did anybody expect or desire a government to do that.
Citizens expected government to defend against outside invaders, enforce certain laws & regulations, print currency, establish standards of weights & measures, and not much else except maybe invade new territory when it looked appealing.
The only government wherein someone got everything he wanted was a tyranny, and that someone was the tyrant.
I stand by my assertion that no government in the 18th century (or before) ever promised its citizenry "everything they wanted." Nor did anyone expect that from a government. Nor did anyone suggest such a thing.Political bs is far out dates the late 18th and early 19th century. If there's evidence to the contrary, I'd love to hear about it. Meanwhile, I'm just shooing fruit flies off my bananas.

Yeah. The liberals of today are center right. They call old school liberals progressives now.The Liberals of today; aren't like the liberals of his time. He died in 1966.
All your 'non named' quote s i assume were your s.Appreciate others. Self-sufficiency is great, but we're all interdependent to some degree. Even the most isolated hermit probably goes into town for supplies or tools every once in a while.
