Aphorisms

Everything in moderation, including moderation itself.

Shoot first ask questions later - surely there will be questions.

Hope for the best (peace) plan for the worst (war). That is 2 sayings just interchange the words.

In times of deceipt telling the truth is a revolutionary act.

If Knowledge is power; misinformation is a weapon.

I like aphorism's --- they make for good quotes.
 
I don't have one of my own but whenever my mother would make me do something for her she would ask 'Why have a dog and blow your own trumpet?' Usually more alcohol was the mission - journalists run on caffeine, alcohol and deadlines.

But she did show me the 'green book' which is a sort of 'best of banter in a newsroom' and my favourite was when one cub reporter was saddled with writing 500 words on a sick cow. Having exhausted every synonym for 'sick' he could think of, he asked for suggestions and someone shouted 'bedridden'.

Mixed metaphors are a source of endless fun. Again, not my own, but a friend once remarked on the self-destructive behavior of someone we both knew by stating 'This time he's really fucked himself in the foot'.

Thirty years later, we still mention it. But never to be nasty because my friend was one of the best human beings it's been my pleasure to know.
 
Learn how to earn respect. And then go on a date together to the Space Needle. In Seattle. 🌠💕
