I was RX'd four 8mg suboxone a day. They did nothing for me at all. Did nothing for the cravings, did nothing for my mood or anxiety like some people. And everytime I used them to withdrawal from other opiates they threw me into protracted withdrwals even waiting two or three days.

I knew girls that would suck dick for this stuff, and when i had a car people would pay me like $5 for one.and I just threw out about 300 of them..am i crazy?

I am not activley addicted to opiates right now but i sure wish i could feel this bliss.. but im being drug tested now.

I was on MMT for two weeks, i was high as the sky, my pain was gone, and my depression was whipped away.

I think I would jump back on it because it legal but i don't have the money or transportation. Plus people told me the good feeling goes away in a month and it would suck if it became like an expensive suboxone that you would have to go and dose everyday. If they did what they did for me in the two weeks I could see myself becoming an active member of society, get a job, and maybe go back to school..yah for opiates.

It just sucks i don't think i can function without opiates. they give me social courage, motivation, a reason to get up and do thing. without them i sit around and feel like sleeping all day.

I love suboxone. I love it.

Anyway, do you have a question or are you looking to generate an intelligent discussion of buprenorphine, or are you just venting for no apparent reason?

venting for no apparent reason because it makes me mad that people like you find pleasure in them.

one question.. though why do people perfer this stuff over methadone..if it does not give you the opiate feeling that methadone does..well atleast at first.

also say im doing illegal opiates..and they call me for a drug test. If i pop a suboxone and throw myself in withdrawal would it whipe the other opiates off my receptors enough so I would test clean?

People like me find pleasure in them because they are using them for maintenance or detoxing, and they do both of those jobs very well.

You are taking it and trying to get high, and suboxone isn't good for much of a high, especially after you have used a strong opiate like heroin.

Thats the difference.

Suboxone is the love of my life. I would probably not be alive today if it werent for suboxone.

Youre swimming in dangerous waters, my friend, coming into OD and spouting about how you hate suboxone because YOU CANT GET HIGH OFF IT. Do you have any idea how many regulars in this forum are on - and are in love with - suboxone, and are going to be pissed when they see that you think its useless because you cant get high from it?

It should be obvious why its better than methadone, but Ill make a nice list for you:

1) Easier to get off of. Tapering is easy and doesnt take long at all. Most people are stuck on methadone till they die, or relapse.
2) Doesnt get you high, so there is almost no temptation to abuse it.
3) Methadone is a MUCH worse addiction to have than heroin is, to be honest. Suboxones withdrawals are practically non-existent if used properly.
4) Easier. You dont have to drive to a clinic and pay cash every day to get it. You can have a prescription sitting in your medicine cabinet so you only have to walk 10 feet every day to get your dose.

Maybe if you didnt waste your suboxone doctors time by trying to get high off the suboxone, you would realize how useful they are to people like us who take it seriously.

Im not even going to give you the pleasure of having this thread open (theres already another thread on this very topic anyways) and I have a rule in the guidelines to back my decision up: "We are not here to help you abuse maintenance programs."

EDIT - no, actually, I will leave it open. Just so you can see how many people rely on and love this medication, and how you are wasting a spot in an addiction program. A spot that someone who would give their life to be in CANT be in because you are in it.

sounds like you "hate" the idea of not being able to get high.

i hated it too at first, because it wasn't heroin. or even methadone. but now i've been on suboxone for over a year and i feel great, hey it's one thing i've done right for myself.

sixpartseven's list is exactly what its about.
Most people who take suboxone take it because they don't want to get fucked up anymore.

Also, taking suboxone to pass a drug test doesn't work, and I don't understand why anything might think it would.
You will put yourself into withdrawal, sure, but you will still piss dirty. The drugs haven't magically vanished or become undetectable.

ok i was not reallly looking for it to get me high. I was looking for it to do something...maybe take cravings away. Too me it pretty much the same as antabuse.. it defers you from using opiates because you know they wont get you high like antabuse defer you from booze because you will get sick.

My question..why see a doctor every month for this stuff if it does nothing ..why not take a sugar pill?

Is it afraid of withdrawal that people are afraid of. if you dont want to get fucked up anymore why just not get fucked up anymore..suffer the 5-10 days and then your free i guess. i know being a slave to methadone is no joke..but for maintance purposes, being a long term user thus not having to worry about comming off it .. i think methadone has it trumped.

I figured why not just suffer the withdrawals and stop seeing my doctor if it not doing anything for me mentally or phsycially..might as well take flinstone vitamins.

I actually don't take opiates really to get my high.. i use them to self medicate for depression, ocd, and social anxiety...the only thing that has ever worked for any of these disorder was vicoden, oxy and methadone. If suboxone worked at all I would surley not have thrown over 300 of them away. Plus sucking on four nasty ass orange lime-whatever pills for nothing sucks ass.

Sorry to all the suboxone lovers.. i know there are a lot out there. i just don't understand the rational of taking them except if you use them soley for the purpose of beating withdrawal when you run out of your other drugs.

^ What youre not realizing is that it DOES do something. You probably werent taking enough, did you ever think of that? Or, you took it too early and didnt correct yourself properly. You probably kept dosing to get rid of the precipitated withdrawals, which actually makes it worse.

You have no clue what youre even talking about.

You werent looking to get high?

Nice try.

it might take a while, and it can be frustrating that you cant get high even if you WANT to, but over time, if you have a true desire to be/stay clean, it becomes less and less about not being ABLE to get high and more about... well i dont know... staying on the right track regardless, i guess. and all the other shit will fall into place.

nothing is as satisfying as opiates when you're first getting off of opiates. you just gotta tough it the fuck out or go back on them. there's no magic cure.

ok maybe i like to get high .. you caught me. imaybe i wasnt using enoguh i was scripted 4 8mgs a day and would usually only take one. Maybe i will ask the doc for some more. Sorry for the double post it was not my fault please delete it if you please. Maybe it does do something but it hardly noticable for me which leave me to believe it some kind of placebo.. i would probally think the same if i took codeine..it never going to match 80mg of oxy or 60mg of done.

Suboxone is full of epic, epic win. 6/7 and JC about nailed it.

I've had two negative experiences with subs, one was when I was (relatively) opiate naive, used to slammin' about one bag of dope or what have you, and thought it'd be a good idea to snort 8mg 8o 48 hours of delerium, projectile vomiting, and lapsing in and out of consciousness, but boy was I fucking HIGH ... the other involved dosing only a few hours after a shot, which was just absentmindedness, I guess ...

Yeah, I hate suboxone. Only because I've never been dependent on opiates and I naively thought I could get high on it.

If you wanna get high on something, suboxone isn't what you need.

Just MEGA-MERGE some weed into your brain, man.

LOL. Yeah. I made the same mistake.

How did you like your 2 days of projectile vomiting and delirium?

If I want projectile vomiting and delirium I'll take some ayahuasca, and it might be worth it, but save the subs for after you catch a habit, my friend :) or rather ... hope that you never need 'em ...

PLEASE do not get high on your suboxone. I used to do it back when I was stupid. I know I was stupid because I thought I was getting high. Suboxone is supposed to be used for maintenance or taper, not to get high on. In fact, it makes you feel like shit if you take too much.

More is less with suboxone. That's part of it's beauty.

One for each of you
;) ;)

hehe

^ Words of wisdom.

My suboxone taper was almost completely painless. PAWS is a bitch and I had the runs and a little bit of anxiety at the end, but compared to the alternative? Suboxone with an epic win.

I'm convinced, though ,that I may not be able to make it without opiates, so I'm keepin the maintenance option open in the back of my mind for if when if um, if I ever get strung out again ...

SKL I was the one who projectile vomited for days, not him. He had to pick me up from work because I was writhing on the floor, projectile vomiting in the backroom of a the trashy female clothes boutique at the local mall, all over cheap polyester leggings and babydoll dresses.

Tell yah what, I fucking learned NOT to take too much suboxone.
