any news on the new oxycontin?

Opana and Fentora did not the get benefit of FDA claiming Oxycontin was unabusable at first, and thus, they will not have nearly as many people abusing (or even knowing about them).

I don't get it...One day they are talking about making OXY unslammable, then the next drugs such as OPANA and FENTORA are being released - which are definitly more dangerous and just as easily abusable as OXY is now.

thats exactly what i was thinking.

If the beads were different like the narcan was in one color and the oxy was in another I'd just seperate them and do the oxy. They'd have to make it part of the same pill

uh yeah i think they figured that out, that's why they'd all be the same color...

not that it matters though, like rocklobster said people will just switch to something else like heroin.

I discovered last year, that in the center of some generic ocs, is a dose of narcan. If the structure of the pill is left intact, the coating layer on the narcan will remain undisturbed, therefore there will be no effect. However, when the crush is done, the narcan is released. This actually is not conjecture, but an actual report that I will back 100% I am not aware if there would be any consequence to merely shaving off the outer (pink, green, etc) coating from the tablet. It would seem that the narcan integrity would remain intact, therefore you would still have a slightly faster release, with a chance of obtaining an actual high. There are not two different types of pills, however a dose of narcan WITHIN the tablet. If administered whole, you will not notice any difference whatsoever

i havent even gotten into pills that much anyway yet. and prolly by the time i find the right person for these kind of pills, its gonna be too late?

im sorry but i call BULLSHIT on this one...

first of all, once they add NARCAN or NALAXONE to the oxycontin it can NO LONGER BE SOLD UNDER THE BRAND NAME "OxyContin" or even a generic version of OC....reason being, once it contains another ACTIVE ingredient, it becomes a new formulation and different medicine just like the difference between suboxone(nalaxone) and subutex(no nalaxone).

they can change inactive ingredients and fillers all they want, but once they added ANY sort of active ingredient to the pill like narcan, it would no longer be the same medicine.

sorry man but you're wrong. also they way you described the setup of the pill w/narcan makes NO sense...flawed to say the least as it wouldnt work.

there IS an ingredient(NON active) added to the 80mg generic OC made by ENDO Pharms that is contained inside a small bead type thing in the center of their version of OC 80mgs....it is not narcan but ive heard it IS placed there as a deterent to abuse because this ingredient causes burning and discomfort when it is crushed and snorted/chewed....

maybe thats what ur thinking of? again, its not ACTIVE and its certainly not narcan/any opiate antagonist.

Always got to be screwing with things that should be left alone. If it aint broke don't fix it. well look at the source dea/fda screw up everthing they touch.

OC 80's go for $50 where im from. Fuckin crazy, I remember when I used to get 40's for $10. Now since the opiate market recently skyrocketed in my town. Motherfuckers are tryin to sell them for $50 and getting away with it. Screw that shit. Im happy with my script to suboxone. %)

I fuckin' hate the burners. they don't keep me from snorting them though, it only burns for like a min or two, but it does make your eyes red

I have been reading lately that pharmaceutical manufacturers/developers are considering compounding their painkillers with capsaisin.

If you arn't familiar with capsaisin it is the major player in the spicy taste. Imagine sniffing 3 chili peppers when you sniff a pill... not nice... in fact... hell.

Ingested orally, capsaisin has little effect, particularly at lower concentrations. Although, shitting capsaisin is uncomfortable in my experiences.

i'd LOVE that.

-it wouldn't prevent breaking time release for parachuting.
-if rubbed on the lips, it makes them plump up.
-it increases metabolism. im all for opiate + diet pill in one.

I have never understood, and still don't, why people lie online, unless by "discovered last year" you mean "found some report about future possibilites or possibly dreamed it up one night" as opposed to "come across."

Let me guess what your response would be.

"This was bioassay based posting. It wasn't a 'stinging sensation', it was absolutely an opiod antagonist. Give me some time to get a patent # on the new formulation, & I'll get you your proof in black & white. Take a look at the formulation for Bronkaid from 2002, and then look at anything past 2005 (use the patent #, there are certain inactives (ie peg) that do NOT need to be listed.) I'm afraid that INDEED the same brand of pharmecuetical can indeed consist of slightly varied formularies. I tend to not post erroneous info, but I am still only bluelighter, so I can understand your reluctance to take what I say at face value. If need be, give me several months & some empty time with the schools eqpt, and I will have someone qualified run a GC test on it if you'd like....

^adding naloxone to oxy is NOT 'slightly varied formula' - it is a different medication entirely.
And, if this were to be true (which it isn't) do you not think that at least ONE of the many regular oxy users on this site would have realsised before now.- Due to the rapid and extreme WD??!.
Please, just stop.

oc

Oxy is like Heroin in a pill. I actually smoke my OC 80's from time to time. They are just barely cheap enough, and make me high as a kite, the smoke taste's like sweet burnty marshmellow.

Dear Purdue,
Please don't take away my precious oxy! You gave me this sweet sensationalistor, but really- if you make this "smart pill" you will be making a grave mistake!

Warning: OC is dangerous when not used properly; may cause side effects such as: Dizzyness, drowsiness, rage, extreme sedation, extreme elation, euphoria, CRS (can't remember shit), Long-lasting Erections, small pupils, nightmares, death, and or addiction. Please do not ever consume, confiscate, insufflate, snort, inject, smoke, or vaporize the drug oxycontin into your system.

If they do this they are gonna lose a lot of money, so I'm guessing they won't. I mean come on, do you really think that these huge pharmaceutical companies give a shit if people abuse their products? Hell no they don't.... they care far more about money, and I think that's what will be the deciding factor when they make a decision about it.
Unfortunately drug companies must also listen to the money when it comes to lawsuits over overdose/addiction.

Alot of families of young people went after perdue over oxies in the past, which eventually led to removing the 160s from the market.

Deaths are also expensive to pharm companies.

There is always the very real possibiltys whatever measure they take to change the pills, someone out there genuinly gets better relief from the current name brand. It ain't goin anywhere. Its here to stay. its the closet thing we have to a 'pain miracle drug'

maybe they'd continue to manufacture both and leave it to the doctor to decide. purdue knows exactly how valueable this drugs is to them.

How would it cost them money other than developing and testing the abuse proof pills? Unless I am missing something obvious it seems like there would be roughly the same number of oxycontin scripts as before. Maybe even more as doctors become more willing to prescribe 'abuse proof' oxycontin.

please do not question my integrity and ability to reason...

do you understand the SIMPLE fact that if another active ingredient is added to a medicine, it is no longer the same?!?
again, if this were the case, there would not be a suboxone and a subutex...and this is IDENTICAL to what you are implying...and opiate without an antagonist(subutex) and an opiate with an ADDED opiate-antagonist(suboxone). that is the only real difference between the two; both are sublingual tablets, both come in the same strengths...please just look this up before you post anything so ingorant again.

im not doubting your experience, many things can cause wierd effects and experiences, but myself and about 100 other bluelighters will testify to the facts i stated above...besides, i can promise you i have personally taken more oxy in just 3 or 4 months than you have probally taken in your life lol. there are plenty more BLers like me on here and it just doesnt make sense that of all the oxy we've taken, you are the ONLY person to report/experience this!
