Amsterdam 2009 - who's going? (ver. EADD)

Why would we care about the police? I was planning on hitting up a few art galleries, maybe enjoy a cup of coffee or two and watch the world go by....

Felix/Kate, when do you get out there, again? RA or anyone else, how long were you planning on going for? Is there any way to get back into A'dam from DV?

yeah it should be done through PMs to be honest but the day the meet ups happening should be sorted so people could book flights and stuff!

if the meet up was sunday it would probs be cool cos it would allow for people to fly into amsterdam on maybe sat or sunday and it would be cheaper, duno how it would suit everyone though..

^ same as wibs. i believe there are taxis and buses back from DV, but like i said, that'll probably turn into a mish. are you going to DV now simon?

righty ho then - SUNDAY! :D

i doubt if i'll be able to respond to PMs much till i get back from work (i.e. the tuesday that week), so i am now leaving kate in charge of my events calendar, hehe. <3 :D

i hope you can all summon up some more interest in this, it would be great to get a big crew together at some point. :)
 
I'd still love to go. Funds are not looking too good but will do my damnedest. Does look a lil like a BL couples' dirty weekend away so far though so would be good to know there were other folks going who don't come as a package. Preferably ones who are happy to split the cost of some form of shared accomodation. And organise it too ideally :D
 
i will be around central amsterdam on saturday afternoon (11th july)

will be hanging around for a few days too

havent booked somewhere to stay yet but will be looking for somewhere clean, cheap and in central location - possibly even a multi dorm hostel or some kinda youth hostel with lots of international people etc

hope 2 catch up with some of yas

if weathers nice i might spend saturday eating mushrooms in vondel park
 
wont be heading to dance valley myself, its just an extra expense that i dont need plus the line up is mainly trance which wouldnt be my number one fave type of music, will be round the dam smokin + drinkin tho

Wouldn't be going to Dance Valley either - lotsa money for something that doesn't look hugely thrilling. Quite fancy doing the galleries and museums thing actually. And smoking a fuckton of weed. Flights cheaper on Saturday than Friday, I imagine? If so then I'd be aiming for Saturday and coming back on the Monday or Tuesday, I guess. Don't really fancy spending the weekend wandering about on me lonesome though so I hope there's a few more folks going than the six so far.
 
just book your flight from saturday - whenever then

After the utter abortion of a weekend that was the last time I spent a weekend in Holland I'm well aware of what the worst could be, RA ;)

Actually, being penniless and sleeping rough in Holland wasn't too bad at all. Loads of locals would come over and have a chat and share a spliff or two. Friendly folks are the Dutch :)

yeah la canna is a nice coffee shop, i was there round three years ago- it has a hostel upstairs too.. i might check the room rates there

oh yeah well of course, we want hash - any coffee shop that sells weed should have hash too anyway!
 
Dampkring which is in Spui + Abraxis which is half way down and east of Rokin are ace shops best smoke you will find..

cheap and chearful is the media coffee shop which is near ruysdalkade / heinken experience... 5g for 40 EUR...

Lost in Amsterdam is ace for just chillin.. can drink and smoke.. most places dont care anyway tbh... its north of abraxis.. 5 mins walk..

Stix coffeeshop nepalese temple ball is what i'd be smoking the second i got there =D, mte took a bit back not too long ago, never been to Stix but the hash was a master piece!

La canna is good, Bluebird, Dampkring, Hunters are all top notch goodies! I like Barneys too, his hash menu is insane! Budtender was really cool last time we were in, was showing us the all the big boxes of import hash and iceolator! I was literally drooooling! 8o <3
 
Just make sure to stay clear of the shops near Rembrandtplein/Dam/Leidseplein. Shops like the Bulldog might seem cool but are totally aimed at exploiting tourists. Just look for the smaller shops which are usually cheaper and quite possibly better.
I just might come as I'm Dutch myself. Only drawback is that I gotta work on the 11th and live on the east side of Holland. Might give it a try to change shifts or something. If that doesn't work out, I could always make it on the 14th to meet some ppl if they're interested (.....and still in Holland!)
