AMERICANA | Traditional Roots & Blues (only)

Heard this @Jerry Atrick?

I had no idea this was even out there, I nearly fell off my chair when I saw this. Getting ripped to MP3 right now.

Townes Van Zandt - Live at the Union Chapel, London, England.

Gah this gets me every time

I'm with you 100%, I've seen the film to this.
On a TVZ Facebook group I'm on they got a bootleg of a documentry on him 100% if you want me to link it?

This clip with Uncle Seymour when he cries gets me in the very Soul. That black guy knows what Townes is on about all too well.

Yeah, there's a documentary called Heartworn Highways that has some of this footage. In addition to the TVZ doc, Be Here to Love Me.

Another long on
Sorry, these days I only hunt down Townes gigs, I find the guys albums aren't that great when you have heard him with just a guitar if you know what I'm on about?
Many people need extra stuff behind them like drums etc to "fill up" the sound, folks like Townes, Hedy West etc....... can sit down alone with just a Banjo or Guitar & make such a sound you would swear they have others with them. I find Townes gigs just amazing & so much is out there to rip into MP3 I feel it's my duty to get as much as i can of the guy.

A TVZ Facebook group I'm on had a gig of his in full from the last 2 years of his life & I swear to you his voice was shot, his guitar style was so slow & it was actually upsetting for me to hear, I had to turn it off as it wasn't the Townes I know & love, you understand the guy & his music as much as I do & it actually upset me to hear it. It's the only TVZ gig I've never ripped to MP3 right away.

I've TRIED to play the guitar, I'd never say I could play it though, I could form chords & get a clean sound from it & keep time so in a way I could "play" but you have IMHO people who make a noise with a piece of wood (90% of people who say they play fit right there) THEN YOU HAVE..........

Townes Van Zandt
Robert Johnson
Blind Willie McTell
Doc Watson

You get what I'm saying I'm sure.

Fancy a blind from birth guy picking a 12 string my friend?
I love some of McTell's work so much, I find some of it terrible though, this is my favourite he ever did though most would say "Stansboro Blues"

My favourite Lemon Jefferson track ever, this track hit me like a brick in the face when I first heard it.
I've had people moan about the "crackle" too, I wanted to burn them for being a Heretic, you know you are dealing with an idiot when someone says that.

If this doesn't knock someone on their arse with the pure vibes they are deaf & have no right to ever say the word "music"

When I first got into him I saw a t-shirt, it was on a dog wearing a cowboy hat & the dog was saying "Listen to Townes Van Zandt" I fell in love with it so much.
The first track I ever heard was Lungs, the guy who turned me onto Townes was also the guy who turned me onto N,N-DMT too, I knew what it was but I'd never smoked it before & he gave me my first 2 doses of it. He was a special kinda human to say the least. You ever see this "D" as I know you checked on here now & again but his not a member you know who I am ;)
The bushes & trees STILL got that smell to them mate,"BBBBBBRRRRRRRR in my ears 24/7/365.

I'd have got @mal3volent that t-shirt BUT now he is a Heretic & also commited High Treason by posting that cat emoji I'm left with NO option but to kill him sadly.
