Walking through the airport in Berlin last week I pointed out a bird's mad Adidas trainers to my mate, who then in reply pointed out her fantastic arse. She was right in front of us for a longish walk & I couldn't help but stare at it haha, felt pure creepy & para in case someone caught me but even when I tried to look away as soon as I stopped thinking about it my eyes just automatically settled back on her arse again lol.

roffle.

Some arses just have that kind of power. You just have to surrender and hope that if you get caught it'll be taken as a compliment and not an excuse for a kick in the knackers.

As for male bodily aesthetics, here's my ideal. Which, handily, I've achieved without paying a sungle gym subscription, wearing nasty synthetic fabrics or smelling other men's farts:

PS: Try not to look at Nancy.

I do wear some synth fabrics on occasion, Dee. I know I can't fool you. ;)

Used to be fond of '70s shirts. Crimplene, Terylene, etc.

Now that was fun, considering you could still smoke in clubs. You could come out of there with massive ciggie / rock burns on your shirt and molten plastic on your skin. A great look.

Effie this would be fucking hilarious sending this to the Steroid thread...

Basically if your not spiking up roids all the time and want to compete as a pro-body builder you are abuse by the folk in there. No banter or chat, just aggression mixed in with probably solid advice and abuse....

Never seen so many folk called faggots in one forum!

The worst thing is when fitness/health alienates outsiders or doesnt make them feel welcome.

My pt teacher at school was a c*nt, and he put me off having any interest for most my life until recentley.

sports/fitness/health is for everybody of all levels, not just people who look a certain way, or a certain sex, or a certain age, hell it can even be for people who take drugs or have drug issues, in fact it can improve there wellbeing.

I dont want this thread to start going down that road

I've had a sucessful week since getting back to the gym. Heavy heavy work outs I'm eating 7 meals a day past 3 days aswell, managed to bench 75kg for the first time 5 reps the other day, that was while I still wasn't feeling right from over boozing at the weekend. Legs and biceps tomorrow. Not going to bother with cardio at all anymore til after Rockness when I'm on the rip mission. 6 pack is already here and it's legs, biceps and abs day tomorrow!

Off the demon drink this weekend in favour of a movie, munch and cuddles.....(could be lies)

^^ It was his mother that bought it.

She phoned up thanking me for letting her have the bike and proceeded to ramble on about how it will help her son train for boxing in the Olympics.

Out of interest I googled her surname and 'boxing' only to find that story.
The postal address was somewhere in cragside so I guess she wasn't some mentalist telling porkies.

Faggot ;) Nah but seriously, I get what you mean about some steroid forums having a cold, egotistical and aggressive atmosphere. I'd recommend UK Muscle forums, good advice with specialist subforums on roids, posters are friendly & don't take themselves too seriously, there are a lot of jokes etc. I think because the user base is mostly British/Irish, it means the humour flows a bit better too. (Mods: forums are source free like BL.)

Bang on. I can relate to a lot of this. Before I got into lifting, I saw it as a overly macho sort of thing dominated by stupid meatheads and stayed away. Now friends and the like have got me into it, I only wish I had started earlier. I think a lot of it boils down to stereotypes and fear of the unknown. Stepping into a gym for the first time, I remember thinking it was like I entered a club where everyone knew each other and everyone knew everything about fitness, technique on lifts or whatever. Now I realise a gyms are just full of random people who mostly don't even know each other, all have different aims and most importantly they are concentrating on themselves not caring about what the 'new guy' is doing. Be like Frank Yang and don't take lifting too seriously. Link is NSFW and pretty weird :p

I agree with Dee Dee that you can mix drugs and fitness really well. You really don't need to make massive sacrifices and become some born again fitness wanker who takes protein shakes out clubbing. I've found making little adjustments really easy - having a snack/meal after a long acid trip or after a night out on MD not only refuels but makes me feel loads better too. Replacing beer with spirits using diet coke/soda water as mixer will reduce calories massively if you aim to lose weight. You don't need to give up stuff like smoking weed as long as you still go to the gym and eat right... plus a joint after a workout is quality - highly recommended! You don't need to start eating health foods like celery and cottage cheese for every meal either. The concept of clean and 'dirty' eating is mostly BS, where it's okay to eat bread to eat cheese, tomatoes, bread, pineapple and ham but combined together as a pizza it's suddenly unhealthy. Meal timing is something you don't really need to concentrate on either, it doesn't matter whether you get your food for the day in 1 massive meal or 10 tiny meals - this goes for outdated stuff like 'no eating carbs after 7/8/9pm or whatever'. It's all about quantities of food and how many calories it contains. You can eat chocolate daily and maintain visible 6-pack abs or fit into a certain dress size etc; just limit the amount of chocolate and count the calories.

I used to work out 4-5 times a week when I was 16-18 yrs old. I hate the people that look down on other people for not being as strong as they are. A lot of people go to the gym who think theyre "pros"'are doing the exercises horribly wrong (ie: cheating).

For example, if you have to contort your back to curl up a bar doing biceps you are doing it wrong. You only want your bicep muscles to move. Thats the most common one I saw at the gym.

Last time i went to a GYm ( to use the Swimming Pool )

I found a fat bit of weed in the locker room it was a right Brucie

:)

PS. I'd totally go to the Gym with you Effie! In a non bum staring type of way, obviously.. 8o

What's wrong with my bum? :( ;)

Made a new friend tripping in the park last weekend and apparently I agreed to go to gym classes with her, haha! I don't remember that :D We're going next week and I am a little scared. Think it's some kind of toning class, I don't even really know what that means.. was always under the impression that anything that isn't a hardcore workout or something like yoga was probably not going to be doing much.

I wish my arse was bigger actually, not like I'm getting it out for you lot though :p

Organised exercise annoys me and I can never keep it up, it's all too regimented. Classes are the same I really don't want to be that tied down on a Thursday at 6pm or whatever. I've never been that into sport either though I did play hockey at school however I was more interested in attacking others, nowt quite like it for teen angst :\ Chasing balls around (ie golf, footie, cricket etc) bores me. I'm not competitive you see...well not with sport / exercise.

I prefer to fit exercise into my leisure time / life generally like walking and cycling in the fresh air and lovely landscapes, swimming in the sea and sex. Giving it laldy with the housework gives you a good work out too, think power mopping haha - as does digging the garden and mowing the lawn. Dancing I love and do this anywhere. Think dance and yoga courses are practically the only ones I've ever stuck to. Did I mention sex is the best exercise ever <3

What else can I do to incorporate things like better heart / lung work into my day-to-day existence?

Also - I have arthritic joints, pretty bad in my hands just now but starting to be painful in my hips etc (I'm 46 & its hereditary) - yoga and stretching helps, but is there anything else I can do?

Who's the expert here?

Is omega 3 any good for joints?

I take omega 3, 6 and 9 and really notice when i don't. The joints in my fingers get v. painful and stiff. Also use vitamin b complex and c daily, helps with my energy levels, moods and immune system.

Don't have much in the way of "science" to back this up, just know in myself the difference.

Right i wrote a massive post in here but somehow managed to delete it - Rockstar - considering you're a skinny lad like me, I'm guessing your metabolism is pretty fast.

Stay away from the gym - google "black monks isometrics", and you can do dips, pressups, squats and situps, and boxing, and swimming to get hench.

Isometrics are pure win - you can get strong as hell using these because you can fit them into a not so busy day, or do them over 2 days.

I do them every day, and unless my day is real busy, I find I can fit them all in in a day.

Considering your constitution/body type, hitting the gym hard i not a good idea - especially during the summer - the summer is the worst time, you wanna be chilling and swimming and doing isometrics - nothing much more than this unless you have a very slow metabolism and find it easy to get hench, then you can be a bit more vigorous.

Winter and spring are the best times for ANYONE to hit the exercise hard, and summer and autumn much less (although preparing for winter, autumn more exercise than summer).

A great investment is a big bulk bag of hemp seeds - thrown in the coffee grinder, they make a perfect addition for your protein shakes, as they have a ridiculous amount of protein in, and also all hte omega your body needs plus loads of healthy fats - superfood basically.

ANyone interested in getting stronger, faster - look up "food combining" - the science of food, I won't go into it more - that's up to you and how serious you are - but here you can change your diet a bit in order to be able to digest your food as efficiently as possible, and not give your body a hard time, producing excessive wastes.

Right that should be enough for now.

Peace
