I've not been to dam but me and the boy both want to go so hopefully next year will be the year

^
Wibble there's lots of great wee retro clothing shops in this area of the Dam I can't remember the name of at the moment, very bohemian district - if, no lets say when we go - lets go shopping there and buy new frocks for the dance valley festival?! :)

^ Hahah true...but new frocks is not right. White Widdow yes, new frocks no. :)

Why the fuck would you won't to spend anytime shopping if you are in the Dam??? (Apart from shopping for drugs?)

=D
Although clothes shopping is usually a harrowing experience for me, but I do like clothes...

^ Indeed, much better to be in a coffee shop toking on a fat one, or supping a pint, or lining up some gack in the bogs, or oggling the filth.....:)

maybe to buy clothes for your nights out. it's great for clothes.

maybe if i go on a lager lout rampage with you one day, i'll understand.

I think it's the Jordaan area - full of wee boutiques and interesting shops. Very nice for a wander, browse n' play at dressing up trying on lots of mad outfits while out-ones-tits.

Highly recommend it Kid. ;)

If you've never done the Dam there is a novelty to going into the cafes etc and buying drugs - sitting toking in a cafe is very nice too if you've never done it. :D But I can sit indoors at home any day and get fucked on drugs. =D Be a shame to sit in the one place in the Dam when there's a whole city to explore in a pleasant recreational altered state.

A wee bit of shopping in the Jordaan is a must. ;)

...and if i've got the name of that area wrong - sorry.

i live in de Jordaan area, and it's sweet.

to bad i will be watching the full solar eclipse in japan in july 2009 and then travel on to the burningman after.

your ex.

I generally take the clothes i'm going to wear with me. I hate shopping for longer than 30mins....my patience just disappears.

I've never been on a lager lout rampage in the Dam. But it would beat shopping!!

Shopping does not equal exploring!!!!

Nothing worse than spending the whole time in Amsterdamage sitting in a stinking, smokey coffee shop or a bar. The place is beautiful with loads to offer, it doesn't have to be just a place where you go to get fucked up.

I agree, but I just wouldn't go shopping if i was in the Dam.

(But I don't agree about the fucked up bit. That is a major attraction of the place).

I may have a quick look in some shops which took my fancy but it wouldn't be the reason for going. I actually do remember looking in some cool wee shops the few times I've been. I also wouldn't go just to get fucked up, last time I went didn't touch drugs and I was still very much pro-drug at that point.

I enjoy the Dam for lots of different reasons. Drugs and hookers aren't either of them funnily enough.

I agree with all that if the weather is nice and all sunny the Dam is great to wonder around...

But if it is raining and cold nothing can beat the atmosphere in a coffee shop.

If Dance Valley is on the same time I am sure a lot of bler's will make it, but Sonar (Barcelona) is on in June and will have to check my savings at the time.
