And echoing the argument that Goa is not a good idea for this purpose. Much as I like the place, I can't see it being feasible to have a couple of hundred of us turn up there. (Oh, and if you want a pilgrimage, there are many suitable places in India, but Goa sure as hell ain't one of them).

i'm still down, and if there winds up being a group from ohio/midwest that attempts to get a group travel thing done keep me informed. i like hot water and television, so i reckon amsterdamn will suffice... but outside of group travel rates i'd rather not be involved in any touristy crap.

anywho... in just a quick query it looks like small fireworks (</= 40 grammes) are legal in the netherlands, but the country seems fairly strict although there may be gaps in what you can drive into the country from neighboring nations.

I voted Budapest, but that's just because I was born there, love the city, and have never been to Amsterdam (flying thru the airport doesn't count). Amsterdam would be a fine second choice, and besides, most Dutch people know English pretty well (along with 6 other languages), so the language barrier would be minimal.
