I'd like to go to California, camp out in a redwood forest, death valley, or joshua tree. I'm not much for cities though.

The best nude beach in North America is Blacks Beach in La Jolla (San Diego, California), 400 miles from Tucson. I also like to go to the Coachella festival in April (near Indio) & camp out for three days.

Los Angeles, I hate.

The state is run by Governor Arnold Swartzenegger (the actor), Ronald Reagan was governor before becoming president. The State has massive debt and may legalize pot soon. (Medical Marijuana is legal.) Marijuana is a huge industry in Northern California. It is also grown illegally in the National Forests there. Recently a pot camp started a huge fire. Usually illegal Mexicans grow the illegal crops.

Detroit's closing of auto factories caused serious hardship on its residents

detroit has some of the seediest strip clubs i have ever been too. it also has several nice casinos and is a convenient place to cross into canada. the last time i was there, their downtown was utterly deserted. and detroit hosts a large electronic music festival every memorial day weekend.

When I was young I went skiing in Northern Michigan. It was very nice and pretty. I wouldn't be able to handle the snow or the economic conditions. Flint, MI has sort of the face of the massive shutdown of factories throughout the US due to Michael Moore's documentary on the devastation it caused (it's his hometown).

Yeah, the UP (Upper Peninsula) is nice in the summer as well as near Sioux Saint Marie. U can watch the sun rise & set over Lake Superior. Too cold in the winter!
