Furniture Market brings a FUCKTON of bsns to my restaurant when it happens :D. My sister used to work where I do and she, as a hostess, got a $100 tip from a furniture market rep.

You can skip it, its a shithole. The only thing they do right there is grits.

For people who have only had grits from a place like waffle house... carolina grits are another animal entirely.

PS, RE: NC

The blue ridge really is beautiful-- I've been exactly here, before

Though, for people centrally located, like you, Amor, why not just see the rockies instead?

Also, boblol... NASCAR is from about 30 minutes north of me in GA, so don't even start to complain about it...even the townhall in Dawsonvilel GA is all checkerflagged out. Its disgusting.

I was born in Syracuse N.Y..........my mom's family is from Watertown, New York. A large part of my dad's family moved from New York, out to Utah with the Mormon Profit, Joseph Smith.

Wow, SC went quick. I went to Myrtle Beach a few years ago. I guess it was the off season or something; it was deserted. Not much to say about SC, it wasn't really all that great when I went.

What saved the trip was the abundance of cheap fireworks! =D

NY; I see it from my house. I live on the north side of the St. Lawrence river in Canada, just north of Watertown. Clayton is a frequent rendezvous point to get that cheap American gas while out in the boat.

It's nice, not too different from my side of the river except different currency and cheaper gas. Like my side, beautiful in the summertime. A freshwater/small island lover's paradise. Granite outcrops, beautiful forests, lots of wildlife.

I really don't know much about the rest of the state; never been to NYC and don't really have much of a desire to go. Syracuse is alright I guess, there's an airport there. That's about all I know about New York. :D

I was born in New York, New York: NYC, The Big Apple, Capital of The World, "The city so nice, they named it twice." :)

When ever I visit the city, the people, the energy, the smell makes it feel like a homecoming.

Beautiful terrain in the state. Twenty miles north of Manhattan is unspoiled wilderness.

The funny accents are a result of the area's Dutch colonists.

I was born and raised in connecticut, well my 22 years here at least. Theres not much to say its the constitution state, appearently we like blue because our license plates and IDs are that color. We get a difference in 4 seasons summer being hot and winter being cold. The water on the beaches is dirty but the leaves change colors in the fall.

50 cent lives somewhere around here, i dont know where and i dont care. Theres that whole story about the charter oak and the consitution. Appearently the state was started because of those people from mass. (damn massholes j/k) being too strict with their religous practices, but i dont know that for a fact. Theres farms here, infact im from a town that is mostly farms and owned by a water company. Where im from 13 year olds shoot shot guns for fun in a hick way not oh thats gangster.

We are the wealthiest state (we own you) or atleast thats the claim. We also have the biggest seperation between rich and poor. Our capital hartford is the insurence capital of the country if not the world. We have 2 area codes 203 and 860.

As far as drugs ive found it all in new haven. From good coke to dust its all there if you look. Prices arnt bad unless your talking oxy going at 1 dollar a milligram in some circles.

Well thats CT in a nut shell. Its actually not that bad got a rich history if you look into it and i like how my woods goes for at least a mile. No lights and lots of stars and peace, at least where im from. Oh nut shell reminded me we are the nutmeg state too we got 2 nicknames. Also one is a "drug" and alot of sassafrass trees grow here ;)

I live in the Adirondack Mountains. The natural environment here is very beautiful, diverse, and unique. The mountains, rivers, and lakes are absolutely breath taking. All the leaves are changing now and it is really nice.

On the down side, there is not much for social scenes here (except for biking, canoeing, sking, dining, and theatre), and we experience exceptionally cold winters.

After I fix this place up and sell it, I am going to buy a house with lots of land deep in the woods, where there are no neighbors for miles.... and a 4wd truck.

... and satellite internet, of course.

Come on out to Lake Placid. It is a great getaway from city life which still has sophistication and excellent cuisine. Home of the '32 and '80 Winter Olympics.

Didn't know you lived in the Adirondacks.

I'll definitely agree there isn't much in the way of social scenes up here besides the ones you mentioned and the old "let's get drunk and act macho" type of scene.

ha, you don't have to live that far off the beaten path to need satellite internet. I live on a paved road and I'm still on dial-up. Basically if you don't live in a town or city you have to get what's called "fixed wireless"; it's basically an antenna you put on your roof or chimney to pick up a signal from a nearby tower. We're in the process of getting it installed but we have to put in an old tower antenna due to the trees (chimney isn't high enough). Been on dial-up since the mid-90s and we're stuck with it for the moment.

I did not know you could get internet access from towers. Will it work though? Even cell phones don't work in many areas around here. That is why I have never owned one.
