Spencer Hockert talked about his late friend Trevor Robinson near the house in Blaine where a synthetic drug was tried by 11 young people
"Some of them said they had used the drug in drinks and some chopped it into lines and snorted it," Sommer said. "I think they were very unfamiliar how much could make them overdose."
Unfamiliar, inexperienced, and uninformed.... It also says they dumped it into drinks (alcohol perhapes?) and snorted an unknown amount of unmeasured lines. The article fails to mention if other drugs were involved and if the death was a toxic result of the 2C-E itself. Rumors of supposed friends say he was "freaking out and started smashing shit." Was this death possibly the result of physical injury?
It seems there is a lot of missing information and I am very skeptical this death was caused solely due to 2C-E toxicity alone. The police most likely left out information on purpose to scare kids from using this substance, but I don't blame them and I commend them for doing so. Young, inexperienced teenagers should never be using these kinds of substances, ESPECIALLY they way they were using them, which was at a HOUSE PARTY for gods sake with dozens of people and dozens of uncontrolled variables. It seems like they did everything possibly wrong in regards to set and setting, and as a result they suffered the ultimate consequence, and it is very, very sad.
The ONLY way this drug should even be potentially considered for use is with a tested accurate dose; for a healthy adult with a mature, developed mind under strict supervised settings and controlled environmental factors, with the right intentions. This drug IS NOT a party drug or intended to get "fucked up" on, and I don't know why the tv news I just saw advertised that it was a party drug. Anyone who treats it as one is foolish and irresponsible. The only way I could see it used responsibly is as a tool for spiritual/religious growth or deep interpersonal consciousness exploring.
May God bless his family during this hard time. And let this be a lesson for the friends involved, or people who are thinking about using this drug at a party in the future. It should be a good warning for kids in the future that these things aren't toys.
