boston is so up and down right now... it's a great compliment to them that the yankees pitchers feel they can only compete by cheating :)

this time last year, the red sox were 2nd in the al east. can you help me remember what happened - i think they did ok last year?

this time last year, the a's were in 4th place in their division. they won their division.

this time last year, the phillies were top of their division, only 27 games played and already 7 games over .500. they finished in 4th place, 23 games back in their division.

this time last year, the cardinals were in 4th place in their division. they won their division.

talking shit in april is awesome. you want to make another bet?

Like you said its hard to make a prediction at anytime. But I am optimistic as this month, based on last seasons teams, we had a very hard string of opponents.. I cant remeber how many clubs we faced this month, were in the postseason last year, but there were a bunch.. I like the fact that they are clearing the benches as I think this points to the fact that they have some fire and are taking this seriously. I think that how well they have been able to do so far shows they have the talent. I also think that given Brauns issues he has maybe a little bit more to prove. I think that the crews offense has been good for awhile and with our pitchers doing this well, I like it. So I say that if we can have the whimsical gods of slumps and streaks favor us then we should do well.

Also the last time I followed the crew from opening day they went to the series. I listened to just about every game that year. (that i wasn't in grade school so had to miss as I was a youngster. Not to say that my following has anything to do with it.. but it would be kinda weird for that to happen again.

Edit: that statement impressed upon me how damn old i am.. so in my defense I thought about it and I was really, really, young. LOL.. I just dug through some old shit and found a cassette tape of one of the games.. don't have a cassette player anywhere to even listen to it.. but I think it says Rob Dear hits three homers.. though since some of the letters and backwards or transfixed mirror images it shows how young I was.. good shit though. Molitor, Yount, Fingers.. a we tott listening to Ueker on AM radio.. allot of the time trolling, out on Bay De Noche in the dark, for walleye and northern pike. <3

It is tough because they don't play head to head until the last week of June. We could always go with full season record or head to head but we would wait a long time for the payoff. I was thinking record in May or against a common opponent but seems weak. Despite what I said, April and May really mean very little over 162 game season. You got anything better?
 
^ with 56 games being played in those two months by the crew.. totalling 35% of all games played.. I would expect it means a bit more than very little.

Brew crew went down today.. Braun want in due to something with the glute. Segura left the game last night because braun hit him in the face with a bat he was warming up with in the dugout. So we were short handed. Cubs pitchers looked good and our bats did not. Decent day at the ballpark though.
 
Yeah, I guess. Still a lot of games to make up room though. Being 6 out at end of May isn't much. End of July, you are getting worried. May 9,10, 11 Yanks@Brewers. It's like 1981 again. :)
 
Brewers are going to fall off and Cardinals will win NL Central

this is going to shape up in september though, you know, when it actually matters

im not really a reds fans, im not really a fan of any baseball team actually. if the Phillies packed up and moved to Bismarck, North Dakota id be ok with it

its not that I hate baseball, there's just about 5-6 other sports id rather watch
