2014 Brazil World Cup- Join the BL World Cup Pickems!

I dont have any reservations about this since I've been defending soccer as an American on here even when the World Cup wasnt on (see:bandwagon), but the amount of flopping in the sport totally ruins it. I love how Europeans are trying to subtly make fun of the US for finally "getting" soccer as well.

"These special moments are what are finally drawing the US into football"

except there's about 50-100 special moments per NFL game, and a posterizing dunk regardless of who did it will be more interesting than 90 minutes of pussy grabbing

just my opinion, at least im not a bandwagoner like these people



and whats up with Soccer and scarves? seriously, if youre ever wearing a scarf to a sporting event I've pretty much already came to a conclusion about you and anything you have to say

when the most violent thing to ever happen in your sport was a headbutt and some bleachers collapsing you know its pretty lame

Lol, that dudes record for biting goes back a bit. "These are just the things that happen on the pitch". The Italian guy had freaking bite marks
 
This is the third time though. If they were serious they would ban him for a year, but he is worth too much money on the market so at best he'll miss 3 months.
 
Seems a little too far to ban him imo. What about a suspension and a hefty fine?

I understand that biting is dirty, but
It's not like he actually injured the guy or bit off his ear. Dirtier things happen in the NFL every single week that we don't even see

First time, benefit of the doubt, he was banned for couple of months. Second time, was blatant, another 12 game ban. Third time at the biggest stage in world sport, he has to go for at least a year. Let's not forget he is a 100% grub who was also banned for several months for racial abuse.

Biting is simply a dog act. If you have ever seen the infections someone gets from a dislodged tooth in a fist then you'd realise how fucking filthy the human mouth is. Saliva is no different than blood and if he had spat blood at an opponent he would face a long time out.

Have to admit I got it completely wrong about the US, they've been a lot more impressive than I imagined.. Had them finishing bottom, they've proved me wrong :)
 
I think it was more because this is the third time he has bitten someone, if it had been a one off, then they would have been more lenient.
 
USA!!! Anything can happen now. The way we have played against Germany and Portugal proves that we can hang with the best of them. I am feeling confident with this team going into the knockout stage we have a lot of young talent and experience to go along with it. The coaching is fantastic as well. WOOOOOOOO !!!!

Don't get your hopes up ;) Nice to see the US make it through the group stage but I don't think they'll beat Belgium, although they haven't played that good so far
 
jeez. i have had my pick'em score predictions upset by a few late goals and again today. picked germany 2-0 algeria and they scored a (meaningless) goal in the 121st minute...

it doesn't help that brazil and croatia games you have to pick a tie because it went to a shootout. From here on out its going to be picking the correct score for points.
 
Fantastic job USA and what an incredible game for Tim Howard! If only we could have pulled it together a little sooner. Our young players are looking so promising. Look forward to an even better team next world cup. Congratulations Belgium
