I knew I was being naive, but I really didn't think the Spanish has fallen that far that fast. They looked flat, clumsy, and uninspired. My more simple alternative theory seems to be correct. Spain is getting old. I saw a few moments of the old Spain, but they just couldn't keep any sort of sustained pressure up. Casillas also didn't look really fit.

France did look really good, but I also think after those 2 goals in 1 minute the Swiss kind of gave up.

I never watch soccer, and this was the first game I have ever watched fro start to finish. Full 95 minutes, and it was tense the whole game

Holy shit what game. Unbelievable comeback by the US and then on the last play of the game Portugual ties it up out of nowhere

Definitely a nice treat considering it's the first soccer match I've watched. Enjoyed it a lot

Sucks that portugal got 5 minutes extra time at the end. Originally it was reported as 4 minutes but ammended to 5 minutes. What a difference that one minute would have made.

Oh well. The US is still looking really good to advance.
