2014-2015 College Football Thread Vs. Throwing down Saturday

oh damn - I heard Pinkel was resigning due to personal/health reasons, but I didn't know it was cancer related. that sux for Mizzou. they've had a rough year so far, but ever since they joined the SEC they have performed above expectations every single year

right now we are bearing down here in Columbus, Ohio. this weekend the Bucks go against Illinois, but then this year's real gauntlet is thrown down when we go up against Michigan State and then Michigan. if tOSU bests those two, we got the Big 10 Championship against Iowa, and then finally the College Football Playoffs!!

Seriously tho, Mich state vs tOSU was a pretty good match up. I would say we got lucky, but we would've been undefeated too had it not been for last week.

yeah... that one sucks

congrats on dominating on D - doesn't happen to Ubrz very much. but you gotta doubt the play-calling, here? when a team is stacking the box with safeties to the line of scrimmage, might a play-action or quick slant pass be the answer? even if we did call the right plays, my team looked like they lost their swag

I've seen some college homers actually fucking LOSE IT after a huge loss. man, my prerogative is that if your team doesn't deserve to win, they just don't. don't cry about it. hopefully we beat That Team Up North next Saturday...

Right? I was thinking the same. They knew MSU was just running down the clock for a FG win, but with literally every defender at the scrimmage line anticipating another run, a short pass would have easily been a TD. Didn't matter anyway in the end, though. The run game to beat the clock worked in our favor.

hopefully we beat That Team Up North next Saturday...

That's going to be another close game, I guarantee it. That Mich/MSU game was probably the most epic game I've seen in awhile.

yeah, MSU out-toughed tOSU which is pretty much the only way to beat my Buckeyes. didn't help at all that the play-calling was absolutely sickening, and the players were playing without soul

there was an article here from a Reddit post by a Sparty Fan here that weekend, and how he'd heard so many horror stories of fans getting treated like shit (probably by the drunk bros) while in town for a game. they said that they experienced zero hostility and it was a great NCAA football atmosphere. strangely enough, the fans here all respect MSU a tad bit more than the Penn States, Wisconsins, and Michigans...

man The Game - tOSU VS MSU - is giving me chills, once again. it actually feels good to have That Team Up North having its shit together, for once. I haven't been nervous about This Game for quite a long time...

No way does Penn st beat msu, making the OSU / Michigan game kind of meaningless. the B1G championship game will be msu v iowa imo

I have a feeling the final 4 teams will be Clemson, Alabama, Michigan St, and Notre Dame

There's so many agendas in the Playoff committee, they are going to pick schools with big followings to make as much money as possible.

I think Bama is gonna take it this year

there is a slight chance something could go wrong, however, because I do believe QB Connor Cook is not slanted to start...

not like I really think that we have a shot, but there is a slight shot iirc

TBH the Buckeyes just didn't deserve it this year, unlike last year's phenomenal run. so be it IMO

About to watch this KYU & U of L game.
The hell did i just say? I have no idea who to cheer for.

I hope Bardo experiences the true joy of beating a Nick Saban/Alabama team in a bowl game ;) I'm rooting for MSU - "GO GREEN, GO WHITE, DOOON'T HAVE A HEART ATTACK!"

Honestly I have hard time predicting a winner in either games

It seems like everyone is as assuming it's going to be Oaklahoma/Alabama championship but idk I think it could just as easily be the opposite with St./Clemson

Im a big fan of Mayfield. Reminds me of Romo/Manziel. Kinda rooting for Oaklahoma to win it all, but I really don't care. Just hoping for good football

Actually if Cook still isn't 100%, they have no chance against Alabama. Clemson/Oaklahoma is a coin flip

It's too bad... I really wanted to see some good football tonight. Both of these games were over well before the final whistle.

crimsonjunk I ain't no Sparty fan by any means, so I don't really care. FWIW I think if Ohio State was in MSU's stead, we would have at least put up a better fight against Bama. thankfully, I was out at a party all night so the one game I didn't see was that Bama game. looked boring

Clemson looks damn fine, I've had National Championship predictions for that team about half-way through the season IIRC. Clemson VS Bama will be a good one

Houston VS FSU was actually damn entertaining. mad props to the Houson HC Tom Herman. he was tOSU's former Offensive Coordinator and a huuuge reason as to why we won the National Championship last year (and a probably a huge reason as to why we aren't defending our title this year). Houston is going to be the next non-Power 5 conference big boy, just you wait... until Herman takes a job from Penn State or something?

even though the Fiesta Bowl is a let down for the Buckeyes, I am still pumped to beat that Notre Dame ass. I remember the last Fiesta Bowl featuring tOSU VS ND - the years of Brady Quinn and Jeff Samardzja (sp?). it is always a great fuckin' feeling beating the Irish, and I hope to start the New Year right with an Ohio State win!

i made a bet before Clemson - Oklahoma $5 on clemson winning the national championship to win $27. thought those odds were pretty nice. now it's down to $5 to win $11.30

%)

also before the season, $5 on Vikings winning the division to win $30. that comes down to this weeks sunday night vikings vs packers game.

pls let me win
