proved he can coach by coaching FIU to a winning record in conf when they were predicted to finish dead last, he took the job after isiah Thomas was fired, 5 players transferred a day after petino took over....prior to that was an assistant with billy Donavon
 
Well looks like its going to come down to the tiebraker on the brackets if Louisville wins. Chickenscratch and I both have Louisville winning Monday, I have 70-62 he has 72-66... However if Michigan wins Arci will take it.
 
The fact that Michigan is playing for the National Title with 3 starting Freshman blows my mind.

They haven't made the Elite 8 since 1993. Been waiting for this Championship my whole life and this year is definitely the year they take it.


imo they had one of the hardest paths to the Championship.

think about it, they beat:

VCU
Kansas
Florida
Syracuse

Those are some of the top defenses in the league, Syracuse being #1 by far. Last night they showed how easy they can adapt to another team's playing style and beat them at their own game.

Tbh I'm really not that worried about Louisville. I think Michigan will shut down Russ Smith and Siva. Expect alot of Blocks from McGary. They are going to make Russ Smith shoot that 3, which he isn't very good at.


Believe or not, but Glenn Robinson III is going to be Michigan's most important player for the Championship game. If you really watch Michigan play you realize how many key offense rebounds this guy gets every single game.

Yeah it must be nice for your team to beat the odds and make it to the final when no one really was expecting them to. UKs win last year was nice for me but it was somewhat diminished since thats what everyone expected them to do all year. But that comes with the territory I guess, every year we simply meet expectations or fail miserably.
 
i'm not a mich fan, pretty much hate them, but I've had the displeasure of watching them play to the best of their abilities for the last 4 years, hardaway is only about 23-25 all time from 3 vs gophs

I was expecting this, well not surprised, at all

unless someone hits a half court buzzer beater on Monday

the most significant sports play in that dome was Isaac bruce's go ahead 70+ yard TD with 2:something left In superbowl 34

I watched it again the other day, sorry, but that feel is so fucking awesome, winning a superbowl and myall time favorite player made my dreams come true, and I will hold on to that moment 4ever, I wish that feel upon everyone

but I do remember back very early in the year you made a post that just said, 'Michigan wins it all this year, yup'

we'll find out tomorrow, since I try really hard not to be SEC football honk, I gotta stay indifferent, but i'll be happy if mich wins cause I know 4 people(don't know that many fans of any other school) that are fans and all good people

Yeah mal3volent it just makes it that much better because I knew they were good from the beginning of the season.. and when the tournament came around I was SHOCKED by the bulshit the media was saying about Michigan.

I think them having the #5 seed in the Big Ten Tournament is what made people think they wern't that good, but really that just proves how good the competition is throughout the Big Ten conference.

I wanna go back to this gif because it shows perfectly how effective Burke is. Watch when he drives in... all 5 Syracuse players are focused on him, leaving every other person on Michigan wide open. Even if McGary doesn't get that pass you have three other players open for a 3-point shot.

Honestly I don't think Louisville will be able to keep up with Michigan's offense. Way too many good 3-point shooters on their roster

would be much more impressive if that were done through a 1/2 court set
 
Yeah it was. Still amazing though how he grabs their attention.. Nobody even realized big fucking 6'10 Mitch McGary was running full speed right behind him
 
if I were a mich fan I would have lit a cig after the game Saturday and proceed to chain smoke, non-stop until the end of the championship game

man it's going to suck if they lose, if it were my team id rather get knocked out round 1 than losing the big one

although who knows, I fucking freaked out and cried like a baby after ram's lost to saints in wild card game in 2000, and when they lost to pats in 2001 superbowl I was just kinda in shock(14pt favorites...:(), just starred at the TV, completely zoned out for about an hour
