2010 World Cup, South Africa

Larissa Riquelme says if Paraguay wins the World Cup she'll run naked around her city's streets. Um yeah....go Paraguay! Haha

Wll you got your wish and if you watched long enough after the whistle you would have seen Ronaldo spit towards the camera. lol, you definitely got your wish.

I missed that ;)

I'll have to go and have a look - I've still got the game recorded :)

the two halves seemed like two different games
first half= clinical
second half= dirty and messy

Agreed, was truly amazing how they fell apart. More like what I had come to expect from Uruguay over the years.
This year though Uruguay have looked more like Brazil.
Amazing game.
Congrats to the Dutch.

Disaster for Ghana. My neighbourhood is in mourning (there are enough Ghanaians living here that my area got namechecked during the coverage of the US-Ghana match). Streets and pubs were packed with Ghana fans, and a lot of the white boys had started supporting Ghana too - there were loads of English with Ghana shirts etc...

So sad for them :(

That was as brutal a loss as you're ever going to see for Ghana...sucks.

Woohoo Oranje!

agreed, thats a harsh way to bow out. I would be gutted if that was us going out like that.

Sadly they were never going to win a penalty shootout. Sadly they appear to me to be in desperate need of quality coaching at junior level to increase there techniques all round.

They have many great qualities that put many teams to shame but technique is not one of them. And technique is one of the main ingredients of a successful penalty taker.

It is true. I believe Uruguay deserved to win that game though.
1: Ghana played an ugly game always going down and acting in pain with the slightest of touches; rarely saw Uruguay do that, their players usually just got up and went back after the ball.
2: Ghana had the chance of a lifetime to win that game and they could not finish it. In my opinion you do not deserve to move on if you miss a chance of epic proportions.

All in all though it is sad for Ghana and Africa to have that team get close and lose the way they did.

PS. GO PARAGUAY!!! ;)

Re: 1: Well sorta - Uruguay had that guy go down "unconscious" and everyone in my pub was sorry for him - and two minutes later he's up and back on the field ;).

i got a ticket to watch germany vs argentina in 3d in a vmax cinema

sick

I will be interested to know how it is mate. I dont think I would like it............would be hard to get used to. Avatar was hard enough.

Luis Suarez...what a cheating diving cunt, would love to see his reaction to a leg-breaker if he goes down so pathetically if brushed. Got that keeper sent off, pretty much exactly what grosso did against australia, kicked the leg and went down ridiculously...god I hate gamesmanship.

And he strikes again.

and MD Specialist are you kidding, have you seen Uruguay play at all this tournament? All they do is dive...very very ordinary team.

^for me the germanians were the lesser of two evils. that and our punting team at work had fifty riding on them =D

you HAVE TO see it at least once. unbelievably stunning. the clarity was.... well, you could see the individual spectators in the backgrounds, and when on one of the many sideline cameras, you can even see the faces in the crowd. the surround sound was convincing enough to make me look around for some horns IN THE ROOM. now i WISH i had seen more at the cinema, the only games left are all 4am and on work nights.

also since it's in the vmax rooms, the seats all have great angles and mad comfort.

during the half time break, instead of boring us with ads, it showed one short ad about being the first 3d world cup and then spent the rest of the time showing the live crowd and stadium and people warming up on the pitch. totally candid glimpses of all these strangers, much like being there. clearly the atmosphere is nothing like the real thing (better than home on tv, but not quite as exciting as a crowded pub or the fan fest), the clarity (picture and sound), 3d and crazy close angles and replays all make for a far better sporting experience than even being there.

for a small peak at 3D soccer, they got a room set up in darling harbour at the fan fest where you can go in for free at any time of day and see it on 3d tvs, but even those are only a shadow next to the big screen.
