^^

Well Jets clamped down hard on D....Mendellhall hasnt done anything in the 2nd half...

Anyways....Congrats Steelers!

I really liked the aggressive play call on that last play....go for the win while you're in control with the ball....Put the ball in the hands of your best player! Great call and great execution w/ Ben on the roll out....

Packers - Steelers for the Lombardi.....

I call Steelers in a nice comfy win! Although GB is playing some killer Defense rite now....

How 'bout them STEELERS!!!!

Defense wins championships!

Rogers: 0 TD's 2 INT
Ben 0 TD's (ran for one) 2 INT

The defenses won the game for both these teams. I knew the steelers were fine when the jets took over half the 4rth quarter to score, even though it was a safety which really didnt matter

I was wondering what the hell Rex Ryan was thinking by not going for two and kicking the ball away.

GO STEELERS!

^^
this-- the steelers goal line stand was what really ended it, but ya, their drive took forever. You turn the ball over to an offense that is better than you with less than 7 minutes left, and you're pretty much done.

So your as stupid as you are thick?

ok

Apologies for this post, yes i was drunk , but thereisnt really any excuse for being abusive like that.

WOW i really was drunked up :D

Very Impressive by Pitt, should be a great superbowl, Pack opens as 2.5 fave, which is a bit of a surprise to me.

Interesting to note so many of the media( and players) are talking about Jays " injury" yesterday, even to the point where his teamates have defended him, if there wasnt any doubt about the validity of said injury, I dont think they would have had to do that.

Busted up knee, but still able to ride the bike on the sidelines i note. As many of his fellow pros tweeted.....

Deion Sanders says it best on the Cutler situation:

"Folks I never question a players injury but I do question a players heart"

How angry were a few Bears fans ? enough to burn his jersey.... not sure why, if he had stayed in they would have been shutout

older than your supposed "jokes" ?

<ad hom removed>

You bring nothing to these forums apart from your southern bias and lack of knowlege about non sec players.

Keep it up, we all need a good laugh from time to time , and you certainly do oblige on that front

;)

(TLM: calling a fellow BLer a "whore" puts me in a position to where I have to take action. I know things get heated here, but I am forced to remove offensive slurs of this nature. next time, I'm afraid I have to warn you. let's not allow our emotions to get the better of us? - axl)

Duly Noted and apologies

i personally like drunk liberal media.

anyway, congrats steelers and pack fans. this should be a good super bowl.

lol cheers, *tips hat cordially*

as I have a free day, i have been polishing off the rest of the talisker and watching mizzou games on espn360.com archives

Blaine Gabbert is the highest rated QB on the board, But I wouldnt go near any of these QB's apart from Locker with a baregpole....

Mizzous spread is like an advanced version where the QB reads nothing. The main problem with him is zero accuracy, which is fine in a spread, but not a pro offense, he overthrows everything

Locker played with no o line, no wr who can catch a ball, and still got them to a bowl game. He rolls out very well, has excellent footwork, but i noticed he locks onto WR's, one or maybe two max reads , before he takes off and runs, his accuracy while not great, isnt too shabby, but he is playing with scrubs, his recivers dropped 7 passes alone in the USC game. I would still draft him top 10, he is much better than the rest of this crop.

Mallet will drop like a fucking boulder due to the Coke Rumors which wont go away.

Would not be surprised to see him go outside the first 50 picks.

Rex Ryan did a horrible job with the play calling and getting the plays in on that goaline stand.....

They couldnt get the play in on time on 2nd and it forced Snachez to hurry the play, throw and not enough time to sell that play action fake....

On 3rd down....they shoulda pounded it.....yet passed again! And on fourth down....Steelers knew the run was coming by that point and made a great stand...

Ryan shoulda called FB dive starting on 1st down.....Its unlikely the Steeler D coulda held firm on 4 staright dive plays....

you obviously don't watch the Steelers D as much as the Steelers fans on this board

because four straight FB dives would have gotten the Jets nothing but a concussion from James "SILVERBACK" Harrison ;)

Jets are a good team, but just like the Ravens... they match-up almost perfectly with the Steelers... except for one X factor, QB play

that's what the AFC playoffs have came down to for the Pittsburgh Steelers, and that's why Aaron Rodgers and his GB Packers scare me a little

Just a little???

A-Rod lit up the vaunted Steel Curtain for 383 yards and 3 tds's when they last played.
And he is twice the player now compared to the last time these teams met.

Granted Rapistburger rolled for 503 yards in that game, but this is a different Packers D, very impressive so far, and Woodson looks like he is 24 and not 34

Game may be close, but the sheer athleticism for Rodgers will extend enough plays to let them come out on top.

20-14 GB is my bold prediction.

The number of NFL teams still in the running toward becoming America's Next Top Big Tackley Dudes has been narrowed down to two, and both teams contain players with serious sexual assault allegations. What's a fan to do?
You're undoubtedly familiar with Ben Roethlisberger's creepy-as-fuck history of sexual assault (in fact, with three rape accusations, I wonder if his punch card's almost full), but that other team playing for The Most Phallic Trophy In All Of Sports on February 6th also not surprisingly contains some players with questionable histories.
Back in the summer, police were called to a resort in Wisconsin Dells that housed several Green Bay Packers players in response to two women who accused the men of holding them down while multiple players sexually assaulted them. When the women changed their story, linebackers Brad Jones and Clay Matthews, guard Josh Sitton, safety Khalil Jones, fullback Korey Hall and backup quarterback Matt Flynn were cleared of charges. A seventh player currently under investigation isn't being named by authorities. Football fans rejoiced at the news that, once again, those bitches were lying about rape and their football gods could go on playing America's game sans distraction. Because ladies lie about stuff like this all the time, right?
The Super Bowl isn't the only place to find player misconduct, though. According to a 1998 study entitled Pros And Cons: The Criminals Who Play In The NFL, more than one in five NFL players has been accused of at least one serious crime. The study's more than twelve years old at this point, but has anything in the culture surrounding football shifted enough to change the epidemic it exposes? It shouldn't come as a shock that a sport gathers exceptionally large men together and encourages them to be aggressive has a complexion dotted with horrifying blemishes.

we still get a rape bowl, i guess. although the dog killer v rapist would have been mad fun.

^ erm, wat?

Just a little???

ok, maybe more than just a little my friend ;)

I'm happy that you remember that last GB VS Pittsburgh game... more like a battle, that was EPIC! that was such a good end of the season game, I hope the Super Bowl ends up just like that game (hehe, with the Steelers winning)

re: Rodgers putting up good numbers on the "vaunted" Steelers defense. yeah, he did. and rightfully so, as you have been riding high on the Aaron Rodgers vibes all year - we all know that he is a good QB

however, as scary as this Pittsburgh Steelers defense is there are some chinks in the Steelers defense - mostly at the cornerback position. it is very possible to put up some yardage through the air against the Steelers, but you have to admit Green Bay's all-of-a-sudden running attack will not work against Pittsburgh. they suddenly found that James guy at RB, and while he has been doing good in the playoffs, I expect the Packers to run the ball around a paltry 15 times if they do intend to win in the SB. thankfully, the mediocrity of the Pitt CBs is more than made up for by the secondary play of safety Troy Polamalu

and you say the Packers have changed a lot during that game about two years ago - well the Steelers have as well. anxiety hit me so hard that three xanax purple footballs couldn't calm me down when the Black and Yellow was forced to trade Santonio Holmes

but as always with Pittsburgh front office changes, it worked for the better. during that game years ago, Pitt only had two threats at WR (Ward and Holmes)

now Pittsburgh has Wallace, Ward, and two insurgent rookie WRs that have been making clutch plays for Pittsburgh (Antonio Brown and Emmanuel Sanders)

also, compared to that game of olde, Steelers RB Rashard Mendenhall has improved LEAPS and BOUNDS (just look at how he single-handedly destroyed the NY Jets - he got 90 yards in the first half alone)

so... while you are saying a lot has changed for the better for GB; I'm just saying that while the Pittsburgh offensive improvements might be more under the radar - they are also prevalent)

anyways - it should be an epic SB. the GB Packers have for sure stepped it up on defense

while, as always, the Pittsburgh Steelers are still a nightmarish monstrosity on defense

hahaha! you've been on fire lately, CS, nice one. I do love me some Hines Ward. in fact, PB has this framed and signed Ward jersey in his living room that he is planning on gifting me whenever I come down to visit him in the ATL

I like and respect the Packers, but I am a little surprised in the fact that I think Vegas has them +2.5 over the Steelers
