It was a great game...

It was such a let down when weaver gave up the first grand slam. Everyone was on their feet waiting for the strike-out. But milton bradley has been amazing so far this year, 2 HRs in the game, including the grand slam.

The past two games have been dissappointing though. Hopefully the relievers can get back on their feet and gagne can regain his dominating form, and we can recapture the NL West. It will be tough though, SD and AZ both have good teams, and SF may be old, but experienced. Anyways, Go Blue...
 
The Dodgers stand a great chance to repeat as division champs. Arizona is the main threat, unless San Diego can finally get a hot streak running, which they haven't with this team going on from last season.

Oh those poor A's...8 L's in a row. It's been painful...and now Harden's on the DL while they welcome the bosox into town.

ah man, that was terrible...Then I went to the bathroom real quick and heard the announcer say that it was Laroches first grandslam of his career lol.

so, who remembers me saying the white sox could definitly come out of their division over the twins? Then who remembers everyone who shit on me for that statement. Finally, even tho its against shitty teams, yanks are buildin up for the long run. Thank you, that is all.

You don't have a Mike Greenwell jersey do you TR? Make another sign for the '88 and '90 ALCS too if you want. :D They're still legit. And fuck off for making me remember the earthquake. :p

Besides, Big Mac wasn't juicing 'til the early '90s after his year-by-year drop in production since his rookie season. ;)

it'll be interesting to see how long SD can keep up the clutchness. Will it carry over into August? Props to Klesko after a horrid '04 campaign.
 
I give Mac credit. Kid was as skinny as Lofton when he started his career.

And no, I don't have a Greenwell jersey. Him and Clemens were my fav players growing up tho. :)

I remember throwing a hissyfit as a child when Clemens was ejected for mouthing off at the umpire. That shit was awful.

Bonds immobilized on 24-hour I.V.

DENVER -- They are into Week 7 of life without Barry. And the San Francisco Giants still have no answer to the question that won't go away:

Bonds has been advised to even stay off crutches at this time.

When is Barry Bonds coming back?

There is no answer because Bonds, according to a number of sources, is attached to an I.V. full of antibiotics 24 hours a day -- with no end to that ordeal in sight.

There is no answer because Bonds is no longer dealing with the aftermath of "just" a baseball injury or "just" a knee operation. He is dealing with a potentially serious post-operative infection that has him essentially immobilized for the foreseeable future.

So there is no timeline for Bonds' rehab, because right now, there is no rehab. Bonds' case is in the hands of Dr. Robert Armstrong, an infectious disease specialist. And that won't change until Dr. Armstrong is certain the infection is completely absent.

That could be a matter of days, but it also could be a matter of weeks. Infections to the knee are particularly precarious -- because of the risk of infection to the bone itself -- and it's believed that Bonds' medical team plans to be extra cautious before deciding to clear him to resume his rehab.

By then, however, Bonds might be so weakened by several weeks of nearly total immobility that his rehab almost certainly will be significantly longer than the normal four-to-six-week schedule that faces most patients following arthroscopic knee surgery.

At this point, it's believed Bonds is even being discouraged from hobbling around on crutches, as he did earlier this month in a visit to SBC Park, because that puts more pressure on his knee than doctors would prefer.

So when is Bonds coming back? It isn't even worth guessing, because there is literally no one who knows the answer.

Kind of discussing the era in which pitcher's pitched defining their career's value.

Pedro's career ERA is 41% lower than the League's ERA he's pitched in for his lifetime!

Koufax's, while still mighty impressive, is only 24% lower than the League's ERA for his lifetime.

Clemens: 29% lower than the League's ERA throughout his career.

It's all relative when it comes to these stats. Baseball ushers in new era's here and there. It happens that Pedro pitched during the Steroid Era, and still absolutely fucking dominated.

To play devil's advocate to myself, it's also to be considered how watered down pitching is during the era in which Pedro pitched, as opposed to when Koufax pitched.
