OK, what does everyone think of THIS NEW SET OF RULES for 2d art contest?
first, the title will now read "bluelight weekly hand-made 2-d art contest"
1. Any image or variation of said image which has been previously submitted for one of the contest rounds cannot be used in subsequent rounds of the contest.
2. images must be your original work and that has never been copyrighted or, if copyrighted, that you are the sole copyright owner of.
3. Only one entry per contest, unless you are disqualified. you may enter another again, should you enter something unacceptable.
4. any medium is acceptable, so long as the work is original and not edited. photos, of course are not allowed, no matter the degree to which theyre edited.
5. images must be no wider than 700 and no higher than 700.
6. Deadline for entries is 12am central on the posted deadline date.
7. Voting ends at 12am central on the posted end date.
8. Post your images in the appropriate thread in the form of an image, not a link to click on.
9. tell us the medium used, and any other relevant info on your piece.
10. keep this fun; the idea is about classical art mediums. digital art is OK, however there is an entirely seperate thread for that. if you REALLY feel like your digial piece will work, submit it. youre allowed second chances, so not to worry.
11. no criticizm allowed, at all. id also prefer no brown nosing, but thats yalls choice, not mine.
please dont try and bend the rules, it just causes conflict. if you have questions, PM me.
does this sound fair to everyone as the new set of rules for "the bluelight 2-d art contest?"
i want to highlight a certain aspect of that community--similarly to how the photo thread highlights photographers, id like this to highlight painters and the like. suff considered classical.
if you get your hands dirty working, its almost a guaranteed safe bet. if theres a camera involved in anything but documentation, then its almost guaranteed to be out.
should i drop the old one and start anew?
id like to keep going because people have put effort into this, other than myself, but if the changes are too drastic, tell me. as i HAVE evidenced, this thread IS about the bl art community.
also bare in mind, i didnt realize that discriminating against a program was such a hot button... but again ill say it, ONE LAST TIME. photoshop is totally acceptable, so long as its original. that means edited photos are inelligable, no matter how edited they are. i want, and i dont see why this is selfish of me, a thread devoted to original artwork, created by hand. this my attempt at making that contest. if you dont like the rules, dont enter the contest.
sound fair? suggestions/comments/concerns?
