I fucking hate this time of year for house spiders, one of the biggest ones i've ever seen just legged it across the living room causing me to jump up and down on the couch screaming like a little girl. I'm not sure why i'm so petrified of something so harmless and small but they really do make me shit it.

I went to the kitchen to get a bowl to capture the beast but when I returned he had made good his escape and vanished. I can't relax now until the hairy little fuck has been apprehended, we can not coexist peacefully.

But I'm the same, though it's moths that get me most - Fucking evil incarnations of Butterflies! :X Hate the base-tards :|
 
His family have probably lived there longer than you watson :) Ive got a tarantula sized spider living in my bathroom called Trevor.

The only insect I cant handle is the earwig.. arghh my Nan told me they burrow through your brain when I was about 8.. :/
 
Had a real shitty cold today, just in time for the weather going to absolute shite too! Was without toke today which would have been a great bonus for this situation, but it's the end of the day now and there's always tomorrow. Looking forward to the weekend as it'll be my first time out in a while, Ska night on with some Dub DJs too - most people involved I'm familiar with too so it's gonah be a cracking night. Any other BL members who enjoy a bit of Ska from NI feel free to send me a PM and get down.

Going to try and get some sleep now in hope that I'll feel better tomorrow, planning to get a few messy weeks ahead as I've decided things have been a little to quiet...

I'm not too fussed about moths, they don't give me the fear like spiders do, they are however one of the most annoying creatures with their one track minds of finding the brightest source of light and flying into it NON STOP - FOR EVER.

Does trevor have a web? I don't mind the ones that chill out on a web waiting for our common enemy the fly, but massive hairy house spiders that can run at up to speeds of 30mph(i just made that up) and charge at you when you least expect it, I just can't handle.

and yeah earwigs are probably my 2nd biggest insect fear, I was also told as a kid that they climbed in your ears tunnled into your brain.. maybe its true? 8o
 
Hes a bit of a gypsy watson.. he keeps moving all over the house leaving his blumming cobwebs behind.. Hes a very inconsiderate spider.
My nan said she knew a woman who went 'funny' because a family of earwigs had burrowed through her brain!!
Must be true arghhh After she told me that I slept with cotton wool in my ears for years lol

So I wouldn't worry about them too much ;) A lot of what is said about Earwigs is myth :)

I've hated moths for years, but when we'd have campouts in the Summer, they'd come and fly around the campfire and end up twating me in the head, those fucking awful Hawk Moths **Shudders at the thought of it** :|

Evad agreed with me, calling them "Dusty satanic butterflies" which I could not agree with more.
 
I hate moths too, I wouldn't say i'm scared of them though. I hate the way they get up in your business and flap at like a million mph.

Dry Day Five (capitals mandatory) today after the realisation that kidding myself into being a heavy drinker rather than an alcoholic (look, I can stop! Let's drink some more then) is just getting me into the same old hole and will inevitably slide back into morning drinking and proper alcoholism once autumn draws in.

So I was able to stop with nothing other than intense cravings for the first couple of days, which just gave way to emptiness by Sunday evening. Now I'm approaching an even keel and the cravings are much less.

The biggest difference? Apart from clearer skin, clearer thoughts and feeling a lot better in the mornings, I'm conscious of the fact I've been thinking of money in terms of units of booze. I'm also conscious of the fact I would set myself a 'responsible' drinking limit, reach it and then make excuses to go to the shop, buy something I don't need and get some more booze in 'just in case' (yeah right).

So if I've been quiet with anyone recently that's the deal. A couple of days being looked after, a silly but worthwhile bit of tripping and then complete isolation over the past few days to get used to it.

Booze is great fun isn't it?
 
until you discover hash . In fact i tried dope before Alcohol . That is how it should be , their was enough alcohol related shit going on around me as a kid i swear i could almost feel a vibe . A ugly one .
 
Same here, pretty much exactly. Though I didn't like weed becuase 'hippies' smoked it. :)

Cheap speed and booze were fine...

I became a complete stoner when I gave up drinking for the first time about 12 years ago (Jesus!). I kept the two apart until about 25 when I started drinking every day again, so the two have coexisted for years.

It's much better getting stoned without being drunk I find. Shame hash isn't the same price it was 12 years ago but you can't have everything.

i got some weed for my 12th birthday, though seem to recall i was already drinking whatever alcohol i could obtain by then. didn't really see the absolutely horrible side of alcohol til i was 16, by which time i'd already learned there was more to intoxication than getting twatted and having a good time.
 
Weed at 12? That's pretty early. Very early to be drinking too.

I grew up knowing alcohol could be evil but after a firm stand against it until the age of about 15 (with the occasional drink to be 'cool' and 'rebellious' with friends). After that I pretty much dived straight in, till by my student days I was a pissed-up joke picking fag-ends off the road and stealing whenever I gathered up the nerve or was pissed enough.

My mother had already introduced me to the fun side of prescription drugs so I took things like DHC and codeine, but up to 19 that was it apart from speed. I'd tried smoking weed but I was determined I wasn't going that way.

I remember being terrified that weed might mellow me out. I was certainly not up for mellowing, nor the headfuck it gave me early on.

If I'd had that headfuck at 12 I really couldn't have handled it I don't think.
