best friend got himself a girlfriend, so now I am perma third wheel cpt awkward pants.
 
Hmmm...that can suck - but all you have to do is be clear that you'd like to spend some time with just him (or just "the boys" if there's a larger group of you) sometimes, but make it a point you have nothing against his girl, and arrange for things you can all do, as well as activities that are just for the guys.

Me and my friends have been in this situation - it went on for quite a while, coz no one really spoke out about not seeing him without her at all really, but bitching about it when chatting amongst us, so I finally had to be the one (I'm ALWAYS the one) who made it clear that we liked her, but we'd like to just hang out with our mate and do "guy things" sometimes - just like old times.

As soon as I had spoken to her about it, we would all be able to just hang out as a big group, or just us guys, as long as it was made clear who was invited!
 
is it weird that when i go out with my boyfriend and his best friend, *i'm* the one that feels like the third wheel? i often have a tough time relating to their history together (inside jokes, old times, etc) and their frequent sports discussion. i'd reckon if all three of you hung out, she'll feel similarly awkward. just be welcoming toward her and looking at it more positively, she probably has some single friends. ;)
 
Hahaha I like that. That's also something I never considered - that it was a "boys club" and something quite hard to get into, considering the lack of hanging genitalia.

It's always best when the other guy has a girlfriend. Then, I can make friends with the girl. It just never works out that well. lol But yeah, I know how you feel. My ex and his best friend used to get drunk, they were both belligerent , so they would "debate" all night. It bored the shit out of me hearing two belligerent drunks argue over everything. The other guy got a girlfriend, and it was great. I'd go out with her, so those two could argue all night. lol

Took my ex home the other night, hadn't seen her since the split. We were both pretty drunk. Didn't have sex but fooled around, initially we were just going back to my place for post bar drinks. Probably not a good idea to reopen that door but it seemed like a good idea at the time. Got a date tomorrow night with a gorgeous girl so we shall see how that goes.

Ha. I think I'm pretty much done with the ex. Went for coffee with her on Sunday and gave her a ride to work and got nothing but negative energy from her. We had run in to each other already twice that week since we have a fair number of close mutual friends. But things are on friendly terms and that's good enough for me. I need to heed the advice all my friends have been giving me about that one, she's toxic.

The date went well but she ended up calling things off today saying she wasn't interested. I'm ok with since I gave it 50/50 odds of actually working out, no harm no foul. One of my close buddies says I should just leave the women alone for a while and focus on medical school which is starting tomorrow. Less distraction is probably a good thing, but I like a little drama in my life and its nice to have someone to chase. I think I'm just going to focus on school for now and working on myself as a human being and not actively seek anyone out. I'm not really looking for a relationship right now I don't think anways, just someone I can have fun with and some good sex without any added expectation. Lysis, I still thing you're way off about thinking I'm hot :p ha.
 
^ Bro, you're on my FB. I can seeee you're hot and you're smart and about to be a doc. Seriously, I want a PM that tells me you're sick of all the girls hanging all over you after you finish a few years of med school. You won't be able to beat them off! lol We have a bar here next to a med school where a lot of girls hang out. The school has a law school and a med schools, so girls know to go there for hot men who are making something of themselves. Superficial, I suppose, but you'll probably meet some smart med school girl, fall in love, and we'll never hear from you again. :D
 
Haha, one can only hope. We shall see what crazy drama the coming year brings.
 
I think i may have found a girlfriend that i have real chemistry with. Finally past the high school "oh we have good sex so it must be love, yet cant even talk afterwards", At the least it feels authentic. Im even cooking dinner for this girl, something my friends would laugh at the idea of most times :D. And she has her head on straight, and doesnt mind the occasional bowl or two on my part. Im gonna make sure i dont sabotage myself this time around..
