Narco gangster reveals the underworld

Something needs to be done to correct the situation in Mexico. That kind of crime makes me physically disgusted.

I just mean their behavior.. We're beyond Ancient Roman times. This kind of stuff is just pointless.

Maybe our technology is beyond Ancient Rome's... I'm not so sure about society itself though, in terms of real advancement.

it also happens in many wars. and there's sort of a semi-war going on in mexico..

I'd say it's a war, not just a semi-war.

Pointless as in what good does it serve?

None. They act like barbarians.

A point need not be "good" to be a point.

Mexico is never going to change. Things will always be horrible and controlled by those animals. I don't think the US will ever step in, there is too much money to be made. Look at what goes on there now, I don't know what would have to happen for the US to step in. What could the cartels do that they haven't already done ? They've done everything every type of crime and no one has done anything.

I wonder if the cartel gets as far up as Texas & kidnaps & tortures innocent people where Bush is from, then do they start doing something about it.

Well it's not just white men anymore, but the rich.. Traditionally it's the white in this country who are predominantly rich, but anyone of any color who makes money from this will be fine with how it is.

well they obviously think they are invincible. We won't go down there with troops to do any warfare anytime soon, they make too much money. If ever we did send a sizable army to mexico, it would be pretty bloody on both sides and would not result in victory for anyone.

Mexico has sent their military to patrol the streets already. And there's been a lot of controversy about this. People are turning up saying that the government is murdering innocent people, disguised as the narcs, to bring a bad image to the narcs.
Well, they aren't 'disguising' as narco's since they are, in many cases, working as narcos. See, the same $ that's caused this problem always will, and always has, caused such corruption.
There's no shortage of collaboration between the military and the cartels, but at least the military is there to jump in and quell street-shootouts as needed :\
(and say "narco's" instead, I can tell you're not from the US, the way you're saying it sounds like a synonym for 'cop' ;P )

Everyone knows the Mexican and American government is involved with this scandal.
Of course they are, they should be
/tho not the way they are :| But, this problem is far too big for them to be uninvolved.

Trust me, there is no need to bring a foreign military to this area. What is needed is to legalize all drugs thus eliminating narcs.
qft
This problem will be here until the drug-market is dramatically changed, it wouldn't matter if we stationed UN troops all over mx.

Or another theory to reduce the violence is to legalize arms to its citizens. The narcs commit so much crime because they know they're the only ones with the guns.
Terrible idea. In the US, arms laws can be seen as restricting law-abiding citizens but not hurting criminals; in mx, legalizing arms would do FAR more to help cartels than citizens.

They can enter any house or highjack any bus and know that everyone is powerless against them BUT if the citizens were armed I'm sure they would think twice before entering a home or fucking up regular people the way they think twice before fucking with other narcs who they know for a fact are armed.
Wouldn't work. They don't run/back down from other cartels, police, etc, they're not going to be afraid that the dude in the blue flannel may be packing.

It's ironic how Cid. Juarez, Mexico is considered the most dangerous city in mexico ("Juárez's murder rate was the highest reported in the world "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ciudad_Ju%C3%A1rez#Crime_and_safety ) and right across the border El Paso, Tx is considered the safest city in the U.S. "In 2010 CQ Press ranked El Paso safest city in the U.S. with a population over 500,000.[27]" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/El_Paso,_Texas
Didn't know el paso was so safe.. and yeah, juarez has been a warzone :\

so no, i don't think the violence will come to the U.S.
it won't come - it's already here

/we'd stomp the cartels w/o breaking a sweat - military power is not a factor here
//mexico could crush them w/o help if they so desired.

Assuming prohibition as a given, people don't seem to get that disbanding all the cartels is in NOBODY'S interest. NOBODY'S. Even if we ignore the massive drug/LE-enforcement/imprisonment complex that (most)drugs keep afloat, there's still a very real question of societal issues/problems(not going to bother touching that angle now though :| ). But, since we accept that tptb want drugs kept both *illegal* and *flowing*, it makes it pretty clear why we haven't seen real power brought against the cartels, nor have we seen an end to prohibition - honestly, it's a pretty messed-up policy* to have, but the whole "let sinaloa handle it" approach seems to have some merit, all things considered (*yes, I'm aware that neither gov officially endorses/goes easy on/favors any particular cartels 8) )
