I'm confident you could find the type of contact lense your looking for, there are a wide variety of designs and colours - good for those with parents and want to cover being wapped to the tits.

I tried them for a short period as an alternative to glasses (although I wear neither now) I found them irritating to put in, both the dailies and monthly and they ripped often. Once inside my eye they worked great for my sight, but made my eyes feel heavy and sleepy - kinda like after being stoned or when you are tired. Was very irritating, I'd be wanting to go sleep early because it would be like my body tricking myself, especially because at the time I was smoking weed daily and then I just became a puddle of sleep.

Am really annoyed, I was in bed last night just about to fall asleep and I thought of a thread that I wanted to make today, but then waking up this morning I can only remember that I wanted to make a thread but can't remember what I was going to post at all 8(

Konbanwaaaaahhhhhhh I hurt EADD :)

Need to move (read: Walk down to the shop) for some baccy... I don't want to move.

Hope yer all doing alright ♥

Mugz - Make a thread about cocks when all else fails mate ;)

Wheyyy go brain! =D
Ah it's nowt - Just still hurting from the party the other night. It was the first night sleeping in my own bed last night so my muscles have gone "Aaahhhh It's payback time for us is it?";)
Also I half remember my mate elbowing me in my spine for some reason... I may have given him a nipple twist or something hahah =D

Oh - Chinny - On the pharmacy front, I reckon it could be regarded as experience if I volunteered there. And if not then they may like me enough to give me a job (if the hand of god intervenes or some such mirakul).
And I do need to learn more about some areas of pharmacuticles but I know everything there is to know about the OTC side of things so yea I'm sorted there :)
And cheers for assuming I know things =D

Oh and sorry to hear about yer mug :( Booo!

Question for those of you in the UK, with love from across the pond. :) I didn't think this warranted its own thread.

I've been to the UK before but didn't watch much in the way of television. Last week I did a 10+ hour drive here in the US with a new friend from the Manchester area. The topic turned to television.

He swears on his life that the only content specifically disallowed on the BBC are the word motherfucker and an image of a man's erect penis.

This was rather shocking to this little Yankee Doodle. You can really say "fuck your dad in the arse" or "you daft cunt" on state-sponsored television? Can you say the N-word or other ethnic/racial slurs?

Seriously?

Cheers :)

I'd be surprised if you can't say motherfucker on the BBC, I'm fairly sure I'll have heard it in a film before, they're hardly gonna bleep out words if they show Pulp Fiction. As for the rest of it yes you definitely can say "fuck your dad in the arse" or "you daft cunt" on the BBC. Also, ethnic/racial slurs can be heard on the BBC. Not in the context of some mad Nazi on the TV giving a speech but in a drama or film then yes, definitely.

What's the score with this in America?? Is it just the free-to-air channels that are censored to fuck? Because I know you can say all those things in HBO shows. Same for movies etc, I can't imagine they cut half a film away just because there are scenes where someone swears.

I think Frankie Boyle could get away with both "Fuck your dad in the arse" and "You daft cunt" ;)
Goodnight Fatherfuckers!!!

I think cunt is bleeped sometimes... Can't quite remember though.
And when it comes to racial slurs the BeeB aren't too keen on that (they like to be the voice for all people y'see ;)).
But when it comes to films, anything goes after the watershed aye.

Aye, cunt gets bleeped out on those sort of Never Mind The Buzzcocks style comedy quiz shows on the BBC & I'm sure there's some sort of daft limit they have to keep to like "You're allowed 5 fucks, 2 arseholes & 7 bastards".

But as you said, in movies & dramas after the watershed then they can show pretty much anything other than hardcore porn.

Haha, na I don't care about dilated pupils.

I just want them purely for the sake of it. I think they look cool. I would just be dressed normally when wearing them.

Pointless like. I wouldn't bother if I was you, they are a cunt to get in and out, they dry out your eyes, make them sting, are uncomfortable, take far too long to get used to, if you get pished and fall asleep wearing them they stick to your eyes. Too much of a hassle for me, last thing I want first thing in the morning is to be poking fingers into my already tired eyes.

Aye they would get annoying at times but I've just realised that the £100 ones are prescription. I need specs & know what prescription I need but haven't bothered to get glasses & would probably never wear them, lose them or break them. Tempted to get these mad black eyes permanently, they would look fucking weird & help me to actually see.

grr, had about 400cl vodka and a few xannies, suprisngly sober, will take it easy and probs just go to bed soon. meh fucking cunt.

That's pretty much how I found them. Worst was if you were intoxicated and decided to have a nap and you'd wake up with dry contact lenses hanging in your eyes. :\

Whoa!

This is kind of nebulous due to a US Supreme Court relating to freedom of speech. The FCC (Federal Communications Commission) regulates what is able to be aired. Also, many advertisers are reluctant to promote their products on channels that allow swearing.

Yes, the original Seven Dirty Words (shit, piss, fuck, cunt, cocksucker, motherfucker, and tits) won't be appearing on network television. There have been a couple exceptions - one was a CBS show on the 9/11 firefighters that used the word fuck. I think people understood that it was in context, and CBS was not fined. There have been other instances, but they are rare.

Cable/satellite channels? Pretty much anything is allowed, but some channels do bow to advertisers' pressure. I wouldn't expect to hear any swearing between 6 am and 10 pm. Radio? Mainstream broadcast stations are censored, satellite radio is not.

I don't think I have ever heard racial slurs on TV or radio, though I don't doubt they happen.

As for nudity? I've seen softcore porn (in which it's obvious that there is penetration but the camera angles don't show it) on cable late at night. There's also, of course, the Playboy Channel/Spice, etc. - loads of nudity there.

We do indeed live in a repressed society. My friend's mom calls him "cuntface" and "dickhead" all the time. :D My dad's called me a bitch and an asshole (asshole is his favorite) and used racial slurs around me when I was a kid. Most people I know who have kids occasionally swear around them, but it is usually by accident.

Yet another reason the USA kind of sucks balls. :D

Aye you wouldn't hear any swearing before 9pm, that's what someone else meant by the "watershed..." comment. Fuck knows why it's called the watershed.

Radio seems to be pretty much cunt & fuck free although as far as I'm aware there is no official rules/regulations to stop this, it just seems to be an unwritten rule (I may be totally wrong on that one tbh).

Essentially whatever they can show on your American cable/satellite channels they can show on any channel in the UK after 9pm. I don't think the likes of Playboy or any other porn channel can show proper porn (ie massive boners) but that may have changed. It's been a while since I had to sneakily book TVX for a night haha.
